Midnight in Paris

So. I have watched so many movies until I'm beginning to back-date them, searched for 2015 - 2013 movies to watch. I don't watch ghost movies, thrillers, horrors, war. The rest of the genres like comedy, romance, drama, psycho, bio, musical, I will watch at random.

So this is a Woody Allen movie. It's about a guy (Owen Wilson), he's a novelist but he hasn't published his book(s), he's forever in-the-works, never arrived, self-effacing, self-defeating, finds that walking in the rain is a nice experience, pines for an idealistic 1920s culture and feels a lack of enthusiasm for life in general.

His fiance, is always embarrassed of him. She's always asking him not to speak too much. To just let other people talk, to just listen and learn from others. Basically, she is not proud of him. She had a fling with an old friend and she was still expecting her fiance to not respond to her infidelity.

So the novelist wanna-be, spent time alone in the streets of Paris. One night, an antique car with a bunch of party revelers invited him to their party where he couldn't believe his good fortune in meeting his novelist & artist idols to name a few - Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, TS Eliot, Pablo Picasso, etc. He soon discovered he had time travelled and he looked forward to his nightly adventures, at midnight that is. slowly, he found the courage to be more of himself, less self-defeating, and he re-wrote the tone of his novel with the advise from a renowned publisher. he also realised that his idols, had idols too. They pine for the renaissance era and thinks that the past is better than the present. So this guy, finally realised that one would never be happy if one keeps pining for the past or the future. Finally, he let go of his fiance whom he thinks will be happier without him, and he stayed put in Paris while his fiance goes back to New York.
