I Love You, Mama.

Of late, Kiki hugs me by my neck, sometimes from the front, sometimes from the back, and says: "I Love You, Mama", softly. These moments are impromptu and brief, I quietly tell her "I Love You too, Kiki".

Homemade Popsicles

First time eating this, very apprehensive look. (tongue might get stuck? Haha)

I said- suck.
Also from DAISO. $2!

Oh, by the way, the mixture is actually a Vitamin C drink. It's just another way to have Vit C.

Toys

DAISO is a place that sells every item for $2.
We went there last Sunday as Maricar is buying some toys / gifts for her two girls.

I ended up buying lots of play things for Kiki.

Stickers with a storyboard.

Kiki loves to play "mechanic". She spends hours "fixing" her "bicycle-bike". (She terms her two-wheel bike as bicycle-bike maybe because it looks like a motorbike but it is non-motorised. She associates motorbike with "roar"- noise).
So, we were delighted to find a tool kit for this purpose.
She says "screw driver!"

We have lots of fun with these. She shoots the ball into our neighbour's house. Giggling all the while.

We used to have these "plastic balloons", a gel-like paste that could be blown into lightweight, "balloons/bubbles" when we were young but they were banned in Singapore since,,, I don't know when but it has been a long time.
I hope these material from DAISO will be better than those from Kinokuniya as the ones I've got from the latter were disappointing. The balloons don't hold up and tear with the slightest handling. I was more disappointed than Kiki -_-
Maricar, on seeing my dismay, told me these are very cheap in Philippines and easily available. She asked her friend to get some for us. She said would cost barely 5 cents or so.

Toys

Tea set.
She makes a pot of Milo for the two of us, then asked: "May I try?" (referring to tasting a piece of cake)

I said- "Sure!", and held up the teaspoon while she makes an imaginary gulp.

Happy.

Toys

These are for me!

(From Kinokumiya) These clay are sweet in colours and feels light and fluffy. We enjoyed playing with them but they only are good for a day. They subsequently become dry and brittle like cardboard paper. I've tried adding a little water to moisten and soften them but that could only prolong them for another day or two. Maybe I could learn to make some flour dough again.

Saturday 23rd July 2011

Kiki & Ryan among the audiences.
This play is rather interesting, about a picky Baby Panda being lost, his adventures and how he found his way home to his mother. Because of the small set-up, the characters are able to interact with the children and the children are easily excited as they follow the storyline.

Saturday 23rd July 2011

The Butterfly greeted her "Hello!" and she really thought that the butterfly talked.
(HA HA)

A very surprised Kiki, the butterfly said hello, and - bye, see you again!

Saturday 23rd July 2011

My cousin Loo Sin bought them each a book on The Baby Panda.

Already, posters are up for the next show in October.
We will surely like to attend this.

Saturday 23rd July 2011

Shyly, they initiated hand-holding.

And they held each others' hands all the way from Esplanade to Marina Square. So sweet.

After seeing the Mango Sundae, she declined her main dish which was Katsu don.

Saturday 23rd July 2011

Children will just join each other at play naturally.

Sunday 24th July 2011

We attended my colleague's baby boy's full-month celebration.
Some people call it Baby Shower but it is not really so. In the West, a Baby Shower is held before the baby is being born. You know, your friends and relatives get you gifts and items you may use for your baby. In Singapore, we do that after the baby's born, during the full-month celebration.

Ladybird or Ladybug?

I've always known it as Ladybird but Brendan says it is Ladybug.

So, I wiki searched it,,,

Coccinellidae is a family of beetles, known variously as ladybirds (UK, Ireland, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, India, Malta, some parts of Canada and the US), or ladybugs (North America). Scientists increasingly prefer the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles[2] as these insects are not true bugs (nor birds). Lesser-used names include ladyclock, lady cow, lady fly,[3] and Xena Fly.

Ladybird Beetles is closer to Ladybird, so I will prefer to call it Ladybird but Kiki is calling it Ladybug due to the influence from her Papa.

BFF?

Kiki is BFF to a few girls (as they proclaimed).
One is at school (Jia Jia), the other is at gym (Ida). They always stick to Kiki but I don't think Kiki reciprocates as much.

When I told Bren Kiki has a "best friend", he asked if I was sure.
I rephrased, I said, I mean Kiki is someone's best friend but I'm not sure if that someone is Kiki's best friend. I think she's a tad too young to like someone best now. Although one person she likes a lot is my sister. Almost like my sis is her BFF. Ya, I think so. Ha ha.

A Regular Sunday

Soya Bean Milk - You want some?
We went into FOX clothing store and she wouldn't remove this Minnie Mouse tank top after putting it on. So we carried her up onto the cashier to scan the tag and make payment.
It is over-sized and she can wear it for the next 3 years I think.

Toys

You know, once in a blue moon I come across some pictures of some toys I had played with when young and the feelings are that of subtle-warm memory that bring a smile to my face if not my heart.

I don't think Kiki will remember all her toys, I think maybe not even her early childhood period. I only could recall glimpse and pockets of memories starting age 4 to 5 (mostly school memories- i remember skipping ropes, colouring with crayons and that a boy (incidentally my distant cousin) pushed me and I fell and knocked off one front tooth. I also remember a girl- my aunt's tenant, pushed me and I fell from a podium and off came the other front tooth), oh and I remember in K2 I sang solo at the school's year end concert and I even remember the entire Mandarin song- about a crow racking his brain to get the water level raised so he could drink some water and quench his thirst and that we will all be able to overcome a problem as long as we persevere) , although my friend Pam swears she could remember her age 2 (a thieve broke into her house), while Bren said he could remember his age 3 (he fell into a drain and reached to climb out but couldn't and was rescued by a passerby).

So anyway, I plan to just catalogue Kiki's toys since we're on this blog anyway.

Anna bought Kiki this tiered-wood puzzle.
If there's any piece that doesn't fit, Kiki would say "Too Big!" or "Too Small!"

Her Papa bought her this remote control car from Toys-R-Us, after she showed interest with Nicholas' Tron remote car.

These pound Kittens and Puppies have a new lease in life after Iresh let us adopt them and we gave them a new home. They are like 8 or 10 years old and very well loved by Ines & Javier.
