Colin Can Draw!

 COLIN CAN DRAW!

Out-of-the-blue

out-of-the-blue yesterday, my colleague asked me to no harm go see his TMC physician about my back pain. It was lunch time, clinic nearby and I thought Why Not. the physician took my pulse and had a heavy look on her face. it was as if she was looking at a rather sick person. anyway, i do know that my health could do better. sometimes i feel that my breath is 'cold', not just shallow but not breathing enough. anyway, one thing at a time. she suggested to do an X-ray of my waist / back, so that she could address the issue. it was an old, old injury with the para-sailing & netball. it is a 20-year-old injury that came to ask for attention. i guess i can't be stubborn no more. so i said okay, we shall address this together. gotta take care of my shell for overall well being.

after  X-ray

super-fake glaze, waxed to the maxed.
got to waste time removing the skin

really liked this dress but too bad it wasn't on sale

Just say- Thanks!

So this morning, Bren nagged that our helper didn't update us that there is not a single piece of umbrella left in the house. I said that given the respond that she might receive, it is understandable that she would not be forthcoming. I said that if she were to tell him that his father has yet again brought the umbrella out and came home without any, or that his father found the last, hidden brolly and took it anyway; his respond would likely be- Why didn't you stop him?   So if I were my helper, I also won't want to face that kind of music. I also told Bren that his dad is not the mad one, but we are the mad ones. Already like more than two dozens umbrellas got lost and his father kept using and throwing them away like old newspaper, why are we still putting the brollies at the same hiding place?  We should change location. So, that's the new plan.

There's this young chap, came over to install the drinking water filter.
He came over two weeks back to collect the damaged filter and he came back today to install the repaired parts. Sent me a message wishing my MIL speedy recovery (having seen her arm in a brace & sling). I had a good laugh and texted- "She won't recover, she had a stroke 20 years ago". But I thought to myself, why wanna burst his optimism bubble. He's a cheerful chirpy chap.
So I just said- Thanks!

Cheap Tickets Tuesday

The long-haul option is to choose Salad over an easy piece of sugared bun,
although it is also a pricier choice.

The highlight of the movie is--- Wonder Woman!

At the rate Jesse Eisenberg is going, very soon he'll become an A-lister Character actor.
So far I've only watched him as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network, one of the hustlers in Now you see me, another "deep" psycho movie - Double.
Now latest, as Lex Luthor.
Since 2009, he has worked in over 30 movies! A go-getter I presume.

Came back home, after my showers, she was still waiting for me.
When you know that your kid is waiting for you at home, you would just wanna go home as soon as you're done with whatever engagements.

Iresh gave us an old set of Monopoly Jr. Her kids are grown but the board game is still in pristine condition (short of game instructions sheet). I told Kiki she has to take care of her toys and keep them in good conditions like these.

KiCo played Egg Hunting so many rounds until they couldn't find one last egg.
The next morning, I found it when I was about to brush my teeth.

Monday's recess - Tuna Rice

Sunday

Inspired by the Wantons we ate, I made Wantons for the family.
No pepper cos the kids would find them spicy.
Ran out of Sesame Oil but well, still tasted nice with just Light Soya Sauce.
Don't know how to fold it the fanciful way, so just made triangles.
Turned out to be Dumplings and not Wantons.

Next time will add Sesame Oil and also Water Chestnut for crunchiness.

Dumplings with fried rice.

After Class

Food fair downstairs (smelly salted fish affair)
The thing with these kinds of food
is that it is yummy while eating
but smelly when you're not the one savouring  it.

ours were ham & cheese sandwich. nachos, chicken bits in a pot.

Monopoly Jr.

Kiki has been asking me to play Monopoly (Jr.) with her. She says that I've been saying - "When I'm free" since December when she received the board game as Christmas gift. She added that her Papa promised to play with her but it didn't happen. That did it for me. The closing sentence. So we played Monopoly many times over Friday & the weekend. I didn't know that the Junior version is so straightforward. It's like Rapid Monopoly. They should just call it Rapid Monopoly. Procuring properties is compulsory if you land on an available property. When you land on a space, you would either pay the bank for it or you pay rent to the owner. The "Chances" are also straightforward, basically either gain a free property or pay some fines. The player who runs out of money loses the game. That's all. No skills involved. Plain luck with the dices and "Chance" cards. The Jr. version is "fairer" in the sense that wealth distribution is fairly even because properties are limited and good and bad chances are also quite even out. Even when a player loses, he is not a world's apart from his opponents (unless he had been really unlucky by missing GOs (salary) and having "bad chances" too many times). Otherwise the game is rather level as in a player loses when he run out of cash but the number of properties he has would be quite on par with the rest.

It is funny watching Kiki play Monopoly. She's easily excited when she lands on "Chance". She would mumble softly- "Gimme a good chance, gimme a good chance".

As for Colin, he only wants to run away with the dice!

Wanton Mee

It's the Good Friday holiday.

We hardly eat together, the four of us; so even eating together at a table has become an event.
