@ The Beach

She tried to bury her right foot in the sand and asked: "Where? Where Kiki feet?"

Then she'll pull out her foot and say "Ta-da!"

Her catch-phrase-of-the-months is : Ta-da! and Hurray!

Art & Crafts

We left Kiki in the bedroom with a box of crayons and drawing block paper, she surprised us with this piece of colouring work. Pretty amazing.

Singapore Living

Last evening, our company's van was unavailable and we had no regular transport to the East.
It is time consuming having to take the bus to the Clementi MRT station, get a train to Paya Lebar, change to another bus to get home. At 5 minutes to 8.00pm, the bunch of people including me, still could not board the bus as it was over-crowded. Everyone is trying to get home. 30 years ago, at 8pm some families are already preparing for bed. Those days, fathers reach home at about 6pm, everyone have dinner together, watch some sitcom or variety shows and the kids go to bed early while the adults wait for the news at -- 9pm?

Fever Et cetera

Kiki had cough beginning of the month, developed a fever, got well for a week, back came the fever, and just last weekend, had severe cough that became bronchitis =(
Luckily we went to a private pediatrician who discovered the condition.
Though the cost is like $100 vs. $10 (at the polyclinic), it is always safer to err on the side of caution.

Doctor said that it should take 7 to 10 days to recover. Meantime, Kiki often vomits after milk and we have to reduce and dilute the milk for now.

Get well soon, my baby.

March 19th, 2011, Saturday

After breakfast, we went to the mall to get Kiki a new pair of sports shoes.
The one she has is a hand-me-down and it is disintergrating rather badly.
It was a good O'gosh pair, in fact I like it very much but too bad it is falling apart everywhere.
We went to order a BD cake and also goofed around on stage since it was like 9.40 in the morning and the mall was quite empty.
Naturally, she sang on stage although I couldn't figure out what song she was singing but it sure had a tune. =)

March 19th, 2011, Saturday

I've told you, she doesn't respond to the camera and would intentionally ignore me.

We had toast with butter and lots of sugar!
(At any eatery, I like to sit along the aisle for easy access, especially with a toddler, you know.)
An "ang-moh" passerby stopped and exclaimed - "Is this just toast with butter and sugar?!?"
I nodded with a grin.
"Cool! "he exclaims again. - "Honey look," he called out to his wife. "This is cool and I'm just jealous."
Ha ha, it made the toast sweeter.

March 19th, 2011, Saturday

She doesn't want to follow me to the PC shop to get a mini-SD card, so I left her at the game arcade. The only machine that could keep her ocuppied for now is this dancing cats thingy.
The game people are all out to catch the kids young, the machines are smaller, shorter and the colours are all baby-blue and pink, eye candies.

Her (gym) teachers are so accustomed to seeing Kiki in T-shirts & pants, they couldn't recognise her as she was dressed in, well a dress today. They were having a fair at the mall, recruiting new sign-ups.

Going to School (March, 4th, Friday)

Two weeks back, I took a day off to run some errands.
I thought I'd walk Kiki to school that morning but it turned out she thought I was bringing her out for leisure and not school. (Oops!)

And so, she was very disappointed. (Look at her crying!)
I felt bad... and reminded myself not to put her routine in disarray in future.

Going to School

Walking to school is a daily routine now.
Maricar says many times, Kiki runs after the butterflies, trying to catch the fluttering insects.

Stretched my arm through the window and snapped on my small Chinon camera to capture a glimpse of her in class. This is the morning "circle time" singing session. Her form teacher is a Chinese National. She's young and enthusiastic, not to mention quite caring. (through my observation).

Wedding Bells

Lovely.

I'm a fan of these sort of pictures.
(In case you really don't get this,,,, this is a reflection of the couple from a puddle of water on groud, which was a wooden platform)

Well, they met at water skiings, so it is apt that they location-shoot there.

@ Music's

Her teacher lets her goof on the keyboards for a short while since Kiki shows curiousity when she walks past the room.
Her teacher is really kind, in the sense of having us in her class. You see, the class originally needed a minimum class size to begin; which it did; but two other kids dropped out after 1 to 2 months. So, it may not really make business sense for the school to have one student for a group class. After much discussion, the school decided to continue the class despite having just one student, which is Kiki. I am thankful because Kiki enjoys the lessons very much. Today, she could hit the drums in ryhthm - ta, ta, tee tee ta. (1,2. 1,2,3)

Her teacher gives her a sticker after each lesson. She loves stickers. I think all children do.
Today, she's got an enormous one.
I asked her to pose for the camera and she did it so unwillingly.
She never smiles for the camera, I always have to snap the shutter many times to just get a nice picture of her.

@ The Beach

It was a nice weather to be at the beach today. After 5, that is.
Although it was threatening to rain, it didn't pour.
We played with the sand, soaked our feets in the water, flew the pocket kite, and Kiki rode on her push cart racer.

Geocaching

Yiyi searching for a "Cache" online. There is one nearby!

(Introduction from http://www.geocaching.com/)

Welcome to Geocaching
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment. Search for a geocache below or learn more about getting started.

We walked towards the cache but for a long time, we couldn't find it even though it shows we're right at the spot.... (Janice! How? wanna try again?)
We gave up after the long search bacause it started drizzling and it was late and we were hungry.

BD Prelude

I'm planning for a small party for Kiki's 2nd birthday next month.
These stickers are for the invite cards.
She has already chosen a cake with her favourite cartoon character - Mickey / Minnie Mouse.
I just hope there will be a nice Mickey design as the one on display was of Minnie.
Minnie cake is all in pink, probably most people would choose it for girls, but Kiki likes Mickey more. So, I hope the Mickey design will be nice as well.

More Toys

Her other fad is "Kite spotting".
On our regular strolls at East Coast, she would exclaim excitedly: "Kite! Kite!" when she sees one. I've been wanting to fly a kite with her but didn't get round to that yet.
When I saw this "Pocket Kite" today, I was all excited.
Great idea, I thought.
The light-weight kite is foldable, fits into this palm-size pouch.
Comes with string and a winder-string-holder.
$13.90 at a novelty store. (not a toy store but those selling mostly imported novelties and nots)

Stickers

Her current fad is on Stickers.
She would stick them on her clothings, she would stick them on her pram and her high chair.
Then, she would remove them. Roll them up and say - "Throw away."

She re-arranges Kiki, Papa, Mama stickers which I've sketched onto some blank labels.

Visiting Granny

Sunday, 6th March.

@ The Gym

(we paid an impromptu visit to the gym)

She smiles when she discovers we were watching her from a corner.

"Loading up the canon" (Kiki clenches onto the fabric canvas)
Next, "Fire away!" (instructor pulls her out from the "canon")

She chuckles away.

@ The Poly Clinic

We went to the Poly Clinic last Friday as Kiki had cough.
The doctor prescribed a cough mixture but the pharmacist refused to dispense it because she said it was meant for age 2 years and above. Eventually, the doctor canceled the prescription.

Since then, Kiki's cough is more severe during night (after milk) and she vomited twice.
She's fine and still as playful, I hope her cough will go away soon.

Red rain boots and the NAVY singlet is from my sis. Rugged look.

She went to the counter and started counting........
