Three cheers to a brave, young lady - Gillian, co-founder of "Homage"
Her company was cited as an example in our NDP 2017 Speech, on the topic of our ever-greying population, our ever-hectic working lifestyles, and an App to help families find Care-giving assistance drawn from a pool of Care Professionals. (many of them are professional nurses).
After many rounds of qualifying- Medical checks, background checks (with the police as well as past employers), caregiver courses, first-aid courses, plus other relevant declarations; Bren is now ready to be dispatched as a caregiver under the Homage organization. The App enables working adults to hire help for their family members, eg: interim period before your helper arrives, recovery period after surgery, companionship (bring elderly to the park, coffee shop & other social engagements, physio therapy, etc.)
