Farewells

Two farewell lunches in a week. The second one was unexpected. Actually, both were unexpected but the second one was more unexpected.

PL has resigned from our office after working here for about eight months.
She wants to take care of her young daughters and her hubby prefers her to be a full-time mom.
Although we feel it's kind of "wasted" because she's got an engineering degree, plus she's been working the past decade, but I guess these kind of couple-decisions are best made by the couple and we should just give her some positive, emotional support and not add comments to her already delimmatic situation. It is really quite tough for her to be ferrying between childcare, work, childcare, home, dinner, home activities for the kids- day in, day out. So perhaps she'll take a break and see how it goes, she said.

Two meat dishes, the rest are all non-meat.

The second farewell is for LL. Starting October, she will be transferred to our Parent Company as the Finance Department there need extra hands and now there's a hire freeze.

Now my company is "Top heavy"...................
