Goodbye, Pepper.

I tried not to think about it but I couldn't suppress my sadness. I should just grieve and remind myself not to ever have a pet. Well, you can say that's life; as in all living things will pass and that Pepper had an usual but well-loved life, all things die with age. But it was still sad for me. The tears just keep puddling at my throat and I had to swallow them.

My sis' Tom Boyish Dog-- Pepper, Xie Hu Jiao.

I was holding out until my sis sent me this photo.  5566. Why didn't I have a good feeling about this.
For a moment, I didn't want anything to do with this number anymore.
My sis saw this number when traveling home with Pepper's ashes.
I don't want to see this number anymore.

It was a hot, sunny day at the pool.
Kiki's arms are charred halfway marked where the sleeves end. She needs full sleeves swim top. The charring is black, not brown.
She had to sit down to rest her aching thighs because her coach made her swim for 1.5 hours with not much of a break. First time she took a rest before showers.

清明 Festival

Sunday

I had lunch - Prawn Noodles and then texted Bren to fetch me and we headed to the temple to pay respects to my ancestors, my grandparents & my father.

Bren was driving (Grab), so I waited for his free time for him to take a break too.

After the temple, my sis & us were heading to our cars when we saw...... 5566
(the same happened last year but the 5566 drove past when we were heading to east coast for a drink after temple; this time it was right in front of us)

Can you believe it?

Surely that's the power of the Universe.
Giving us a comforting sign.

5566

The story about my personal 5566.
The year my dad passed, was a bit tough for me.
In my family clan, my dad "died young". So it was hard for me to come to terms.
But I know should let grief pass and carry on by living well.
So I said to the Universe to give me a kind of a "comfort sign", like saying - It's all right, I'm always here-- that kind of comfort sign. I said that the sign would be 5566. (it was a random number derived by a quick fitting; has to be four digits that are not too common and not too complex).
I am quite darn sure the Universe responded.

I shared my,,,,,, you can call it day-dreaming thoughts or self-talk or mad idea, with my sis. And I swear that more often than not, the appearance of this set of numbers occurred uncannily between us. The other time we went to pay respects to my dad at the temple, and we went for a drink after that, while on the way to East Coast, a car with 5566 plate drove us by.

Last weekend my sis sent me the picture above.

I asked her, what was she thinking of or what was happening around the time she spotted the number. She told me she was OVER THE MOON over a pair of heels she has just bought in preparation for her wedding day. Well, I can see why she is so happy. That pair she bought is almost identical to the pair she dreamed of having. So yes, she was overjoyed and I guess 5566 came to congratulate her. Haha.

So anyway, that was.... Friday night.

Saturday morning as I was walking toward music class with Colin, I was wondering to myself if really 5566 came to seal its message to us or whether I am just plain............... Ally McBeal.
Then, at the car park,,,,,,,,,,, the number showed up to flick my doubt. So I smiled to myself but the chapter didn't end there.

I thought again.... maybe this is the same car that I saw last year. Maybe the car is residential. *you see, my doubt is not easily persuaded.

So I looked up the old photo.

It is a different car.

So there you go, 5566 twice!

初八 Lunch

Two of my colleagues are leaving our office, so today's a farewell lunch for them.

 Penang Place Restaurant.
My boss just touched down from Penang and headed straight to the restaurant to meet us.
We jokingly asked if the food in Penang is any much better than this restaurant.

 Penang Asam Laksa (very nice)
Other stuff like the Ngo Hiang was also very good.

Liu Sa Bao (custard, salted egg yoke bun)

 Chendol
 Lo Hei, Huat Ah!
(under my breath, I whispered - Tao Nao Primary School ah!)

On the way back, this gleaming white car at the car park at B5 was calling out for me to take a closer look. It read 5566!
Hummm.......... what did I wish for just now.........

Sightings

Weekend, Sunday 23rd 2014

Bren & I had Tim Sum after sending Kico to Chinese class.

After class, I gave them lunch and accompanied them till they fell asleep. Then we quickly dashed to the pool to catch the sun. Nice tan, and we're planning to do it again next Sunday =)

Then we went lunch.

When the kids woke up, I brought them to play.
Kiki has a new cart, I don't know what to call it so I said it is a wiggle-cart but sometimes I called it go-cart.
She's could maneuver the cart very well, despite being new at it. She showed off by waving her hands in the air while she wiggle round the garden porch and placed her hands behind her head in a relaxed manner. Colin cried and wants to have his turn at it but his legs are too short for now. In the end,,,, I pushed him manually a couple of rounds until I was breathless.

And we went for Lego- the movie.
Colin is a tad too young to comprehend the movie (I think), but he was well behaved and patient till the end of the movie.
Kiki enjoyed the movie more. After the show, she responded to all my conversations with "Meow, Mews, Mees." Mimicking the cat in the movie.... haha.
Maricar also found the movie funny.

Then the Universe sent me a sign.
Thank you!

CNY 初二

 很不一样的一个表情,那是开心,兴奋!
She couldn't stop yelling - "Mama! MAMA! LION DANCE!"

 Making Monkey-faces.

有样学样 Dragon see, Lion do.
(and she made me drum to the beat with two rackets)
