Humoresque 25th November 2017

 Glad to have made it.

 Morning rehearsal

 Warm up before going backstage

We were tired and hungry after a long day, but we were happy to have accomplished this.
Also, we enjoyed the rest of the performance, the principal and her fellow colleagues, along with their students-- their manners were confident, open, fun and playful. It was refreshing.

 Dinner at Pasar Malam.

Toys reflecting and moving along with the times.
Doll on Hover Board.

Kaiwai Charity Concert: 19th November 2017

we left our clothes & boots unattended while she went for rehearsal and I, breakfast.

Found a really nice cafe (The Providore) with relaxing lounge music and a backdrop of green, leafy vine plants. I had muesli yogurt & berries.

After an hour odd, I went back to the auditorium to fetch Kiki for her lunch break.
She had a ham sandwich, she was very hungry, she said.
We had to walk across the road to the building opposite because there was no eatery at the Chinese Culture Centre.

Mom, Sis & Colin came to support.

 The ensemble.

Colin commented that this Rainbow has six colours instead of seven.

He's always surprising me with his observations.

SCO @ Botanic Gardens 12th Aug 2017

早安老师
The SCO played several theme songs from old TV series- 《早安老师》, 《KOPI-O》,
《雾锁南洋》, 《出路》etc. and several National Day theme songs - "Home", Count on me Singapore.

we had a nice, thinly crusted pizza after the concert.

after dinner, it was very late... past 9pm. there was no shuttle bus, no taxi, no whatever and my phone batt was out. we walked out on the street, trying to get to the main road.
after walking for 10 mins, we met a couple and I asked if they know how far the main road is. the guys said another 800m. I was like..... okay..... then he said that if we didn't mind, they can alight us at Orchard Road. I was like - THANK YOU!
LOL. Kiki was very careful. she whispered to me -- Be careful of kidnappers.
I was like -- this is Singapore.
Anyway, the couple was fine people.

Friday in August

Went to OneKM Shopping Mall to checkout what eateries they have there, as the school asked if could bring some snacks to add to the tea break session on Colin's birthday.

There's a PizzaHut family restaurant at OneKM, so I guess that will be it.

 street view across OneKM

I thought I've bought the same blouse at $10 but I actually bought it for $5.29
It's retailing for $22.90

I've discarded the "Cat sling thingy" because it is not a purse or anything, it has no function,
it's just for decorative purpose and me being rather pragmatic... threw it in the bin.
Because, Kiki will have the lanyard that's holding the EZ link card, plus her water-bottle with strap; there is no need to add one more slingy thingy over her shoulders,
if not she'll look like a Christmas Tree...

Colin went to the Pinocchio musical two weeks ago with his school mates.
I appreciate that his childcare brings them to arts theaters twice a year.

 Colin's writing practice.

Colin is supposed to read an English book and a Mandarin book each week.
However, the Mandarin books are becoming too challenging................
I became unmotivated to even coach him.
The goal is unattainable.

 2008 dessert wine
so nice to have waited
what are "dessert wines"? you ask.
They are essentially el cheapo wines harvested from overly ripe grapes
or late seasoned grapes, or noble but rotting grapes.
rotten wine but rich volume and taste.
