Phuket - Night & Others

"Look! I've got a Million Dollar Photo."  I exclaimed after capturing this.

 

I said - "Say "Hi" to Yiyi.... " (to get them to pose). 

 Look at her sad face. She came up to me and whispered: "Mama, can you send the picture to Maricar? send it to her handphone,,,,,,,, I miss her." then she almost cried. (I told her ok but I didn't do it because Maricar doesn't have a smartphone, nor do I think it mattered much to her if my kids miss her.) Colin upon reaching home, at the showers, declared- "I love you" to Maricar who didn't hear him until he repeated. I am not jealous, because it is a good sign that my kids are affectionate beings. Just that I hope their feelings are being appreciated or reciprocated, how it may unravel; I could only hope they meet nice people.

So anyway, Patong is filled with Pubs. We didn't go for a drink because mainly there's no inclination.
But it was interesting walking down the street, watching all the neon lights and getting our heartbeats synced with the beats.

 They had this huge LED Billboard that flashes a live cam for about three minutes and then a set of advertisements for three minutes, alternating intervals. Can you spot us on the screen?

 Beer Garden

 One of the night, there was a storm. And one stretch of Cables got short circuited. It happened to be on the side where our motel resides. At 5.30 in the morning, I ran three Seven-Eleven stores in an attempt to buy hot water for milk but all the stores were affected. There were three "Lady boys" who were very helpful, they explained to me that there was a "Boom!" and gestured to me dramatically that there is no power. (there was no air-conditioning, no hot water, no electricity, bathroom tap water was brown) Finally, I found an uncle selling hot coffee on his motorbike; I bought some coffee and he helped fill up the two milk bottles I had with me. Wa, we've really taken electricity, water & infrastructure for granted in Singapore. You don't know how it feels to have two whining kids wanting milk when the sun is still dozing. Well, it was not mayhem; mayhem, because if  worse comes to worst we could give them cool milk (from bottled water) but I don't think cool milk will give them comfort.

So anyway, after breakfast we went around the area to recce other hotels in case we have to move if power doesn't come back, and we walked into Novotel. Wow, it's like haven compared to our little huts. Haha. For five times the price, of course.

We were the last passengers to alight from the plane. One stewardess spotted Colin and exclaimed that he was "cute", and then Kiki overheard, so we've got two of these puzzles. ha.

Phuket - Playtime

I was curious at what they were doing.... "car,      car,    motorbike,,,, truck,, car,,,,, motorbike" 
There were keeping themselves occupied by spotting vehicles as they pass by.

She ate a lot of these candies while there. She hardly have much candies on a regular day except for the occasional Chupa Chups because I don't buy much Candies. Sometimes, visitors give us some chocolates or gummy jellies but that's about all.

 I tell you, I am quite a chicken when it comes to height and slides. But for the love of my children, I push myself to climb with them. When Colin got stuck in a Caterpillar-shaped tunnel, I get Kiki to save him. LOL. I tasked her- "Go Rachael Go!, Go save your brother."  She's actually very defensive when it comes to saving her brother. She would exclaim : "Wait, Colin! Jie Jie to the rescue!" followed by step-by-step encouragement and demonstration on how to crawl out from the tube. (I didn't dare to go through the tube as I was afraid one of its bolts may come loose from my weight hanging in midair, plus, I might freeze in the middle of the tube and then it would be totally embarrassing!)
We went up to the "tree house" and the kids made "cup cakes", before we started eating, Colin said Wait! and he went to fetch some cutlery. Before we "ate", we said Grace and Colin ended with it "Amen". LOL.

Phuket- Shopping

I like this phone case very much. and it looks classier with tassels, so I bought the case an accessory.

 Very nice and may I say, they are VERY cheap ($16). So nice that I bought them despite them being a size bigger. How am I gonna wear them? You shall see.

Granny-looking pumps that are not granny-looking when they touch my feet. LOL.
They are very comfy, I hope they will live to my expectations.

 One of those crystal studs came off her shoes and I've been looking for a brooch to replace.Voila! A pair of cream-coloured earrings will do the trick.

If the shop had more of these designs, I would have bought a dozen to give away. There were at 3-for100 baht. (ie. 3-for-$4) But they had only limited nicer designs.

Phuket - Meals

We were there for eight days and we ate almost the same dishes day-in-day-out. We've tried our best to get KiCo to eat greens but we were not very successful at it. Colin vomited on the first three days, which got me quite worried. He's a choosy eater and he ate like three spoonful of rice for lunch and dinner, but he has no problem stuffing French fries. Also, he developed a huge patch of rash underneath his arms; and I think that's to do with the shrimps. So, it was a little bit of a challenge getting him to eat, eventually that giant tin of Friso we had brought there ran out pretty fast and we couldn't get Friso there and tried to substitute with Dumex which both of them disliked; like Urgh! Yucks! So we apportioned two spoonful of Dumex with three of Friso and that was the fine tuned concoction that lasted till we left. Phew!

 We had omelette every single day, every lunch and dinner. That is the only non-spicy, comfort food for KiCo.

 On most nights, we had a basket of fabulous fries that would put Mc's to shame.

 Finally one evening, I had the Green Curry.

 Oh, these Street Fried Chicken are very fragrant too. They cost S$2++ each, which could get you a bowl of noodles at the coffeeshop for that price.

 Finally, toward the last three days after feeling more relaxed when Colin's appetite picked up, we had the ever-flavourful Tom Yam Soup.
