People who argue their way through

Every Tuesday night Colin has Speech & Drama class at the CC but last night he refused to go, instead he kicked up a tantrum, tears aplenty. I was about to shower and had to interrupt, calm him down to ask if he enjoys his classes. Maricar says he does. So the problem we have is that he wants to continue playing with his sister at home, don't wanna break playtime for class. So I told him, okay, we (Kiki & I) will chaperone him to class. Only then did he stop crying. Well, that means I have to skip Kiki's violin practice and English worksheet time because by the time I return, read a book with them,,,,,, I will be struggling to stifle my yawns. So anyway, after my showers, we brought him to class and he was happy. So manja this boy.

There was once a woman at the Library reception counter, kicking a big fuss over the fine that was imposed on her for returning books over due. It was 50 cents for one day's delayed return and she was required to pay 50 cents before she could make new loans.

In raised voice, she argued that she was not late in returning the book because she returned it before the clock strike twelve and technically, in a 24-hour day, the day is not over even at 2359 hours. The librarian struggled to explain to her that the business hour for the library is 9.00pm. So the cut-off time for returning books is at 9.00pm.The woman countered that that being the case, it was not made known to public that the cut off time for returning books is 9.00pm. Furthermore, then why state so boldly on the book return kiosk that book return is a 24-hour book drop service?

You may think that I would laugh at that woman but no. I agree with the woman.
Although it hasn't crossed my mind about these, perhaps if I were being fined I would simply pay up. But she has a point.

I don't know how it ended or if the NLB tweaked its fine policy, but well, this is just an anecdote for you, my reader.

Audition

Our class auditioned for the year end concert
It was quite intense but all of us just did our best. We didn't pass the audition last year, so this year, everyone was a bit apprehensive.

The class before us was so excellent that some parents who were waiting outside the room thought that the accompanying music was on CD or something. No, it was live violin and the piano.
That class played so well, you could see awe in many parents' faces (those who were crowded outside the audition classroom) and many parents were trying to take a peep (or is it peek?) into the room. I was like.... wow........... inspired to continue violin in hope that one day, Kiki may play as good as this.

So hungry, she wanted Sushi.
Actually, I think she's only amused with the conveyor belt thingy.
Food wise....................................... Sake Sushi is fast food quality and not worth the prices.
Just look at their Tobiko (flying fish roe), the bright, uniformly saturated orange colour made me think that they have been artificially coloured.  The egg sushi also. The soy sauce they have is not even meant for Sashimi.
Sakuraya Fish Market would be better but they have only 3 outlets.
Anyway, this just sayin'.

"Tamagotchi"

Her Chinese book mentions about "Tamagotchi", and I told her that I used to have one. She asked where could we get one, I said Isetan probably still sells them but we are not getting it. In the end, I thought okay lah, perhaps just get the App. $4.98 on App store.

A Joyous Day 27th September 2015 月圆花好,中秋节

Setting off in a taxi to my mom's place in the morning.. 7.40am
Woke up automatically at 6.18am, no need alarm clock.

My 大姨, 小姨, cousin Loo Sin & Joo Yann were all here to give a booster to the festivity although we hadn't invite them as we thought to keep it as simple as possible. But they want to come and cheer, so, cheer they did.

 My Mama & Sherz.
 My sis & I.

 With her friend- Angela.

A Joyous Day 27th September 2015 月圆花好,中秋节

敬茶 to all the elders, elder siblings & cousins, everyone was patient with the ceremony and they were very happy for us.

 My Godma.
 Godma & Colin.
 My Aunt Jessie.
The kids making a beeline to greet Uncle Ken, it's real Uncle now, not the generic courtesy 'Uncle' term.

An addition to my small family. We may be small in number but all it matters is unity.

My Aunt Julie is the one who took care of my sis from K1 to Primary school days.
She is exceptionally happy for my sis, although she wondered if SJ is just not talking much to her. LOL.

Mom's side

Look at Colin doing the mock-sleep.

Lunch Begins 月圆花好,中秋节

Exchanging vows.

I think it will be helpful for every married person to recite the marriage vows in his/her heart every time one attends a wedding solemnization. Refresh one's memory if not refresh one's commitment.

Lounge singer belting out Mandarin tunes.

Seating arrangement was apt, given that there were private rooms, cluster seats, and regular 10-seater round tables.

noddles also.
Menu was simple and nice.

Lunch Continued

Sis changed gown into a blue number.

Many guests were surprised at his eloquence as they have not heard him spoken.
It didn't help that he is not fond of making small talks hence their misconception.
It also didn't help that he has silver hair since by and large, my relatives are from MOE, Mindef etc.
In order to pacify others, I always tell them:- It's ok lah, he also doesn't talk much to me, that's his pattern. So they leave it as that.

 They flew back
This' the Ops Team.

Okay, that's all the photos from iPhones, will wait for official photographer's later on.
But I don't think there's any photo that has Kiki, Colin, Ken & my sis together.......... =(
