This is totally true when it comes to Colin's swimming.
Took a very long time to coax the little boy to learn to breathe when doing the breast stroke style.
He clung on to me like a Koala Bear, coach screaming and howling at him, even threw him into the deep pool water. Despite all threats, it didn't work.
I had to intervene using loving patience.
Indeed, before he had a breakthrough in learning, it was toughest just prior to breaking through.
