Day 2: Part 4: Cafes & Local Heangs

 After Chew's Jetty, we walked out to the main roads and there was a coffee shop there.
We had Orh Kuey Yam Cake but it was not nice. Only the condiments were nice (mini dried prawns)
The Ice Jelly which my aunt had, was flavourful (unlike the bland ones we have in Singapore)

 On our walk back, we came across more murals and wrought iron art work.

 we passed by a cafe but we didn't eat there because we were not hungry.
i liked that cafe very much and i wished they were listed on Airbnb but they were not.
there were bedrooms with glass doors but the sign wrote - "for staff only", so we couldn't get up there. i liked the place for its natural daylight and rustic feel. the cafe is called "Awesome Canteen"
you can find them on FB.

 Beh Teh Soh & Tao Sar Piah
So many local biscuits shops with names ending "heang" this "heang" that. 香 (fragrance)
Every shop would boast about their history and how theirs' the best.
We bought from two different brands at different shop locations.

 Mahjong = Game of Sparrows.

 Another iconic wall mural

You know, you could rent a bicycle or one of these carts to move around Georgetown.
You could also hire a trishaw to bring you around. Some people use the trishaw as a faster way to visit all the murals and they just hop off to take photos. I think that is less tiring but also less...... what you call that... less valuable. You see, when we walked and walked, all tire out, so when we spotted the murals, there's a sense of "found it!" kind of fun element. Like treasure hunting. It wouldn't be the same if we were brought around in trishaws. That would be like spoon-fed. But of course it depends on the amount of time and stamina you have because walking for hours is no joke. In the rain some more laggi no joke.
