Children's Day Challenge 2016

I joked that she was from Jamaica

Little Isaac is barely 3 years old and he plays Twinkle, ever so adorably.

So since little Isaac played Twinkle solo, Teacher asked the rest of the class to play Twinkle as well but for a challenge, they would have to bow on their friends' violins. Bow on the violin next to you, while your fingers move on your own violin. Wow, quite a hand-eye-coordination challenge but Twinkle was quite all right, and the kids, they were all laughing to themselves. Rare treat.

We have completed Gavotte (J Becker) and will move to new song this week - Gavotte in D major (J.S Bach). That's a very lengthy song, and I hope we can pick it up well enough as this will be the first time I'm not writing the fingering notes on the music scores. I think we will have to learn to sight read in a matter of time, so...... better start learning it ba.

Her teacher asked if we (all parents) are thinking of sending our kids to exams. She asked me. I said I have not decided. She says don't take too long to decide, if not everyone else has gone for exams and we might still be undecided. Teacher says it is our choice if we want to send them to exams but her usual style is that her she sends her students straight to grade 8 some time before their PSLE. But that is for her private students (I suppose). She quote a fellow mommy in our class who had at the last minute, decided to let her son take grade 5 exams. That mommy single-handedly coached her son for grade 5 violin exams and they crashed course and made it in two months.
