"Secret Millionaires Club"

I was surprised to come across the kids watching "Secret Millionaires Club" on cable just a couple of evenings ago. I thought the cartoon series might be a bit technical for KiCo but the two of them seemed to enjoy the Warren Buffett series.

Motto: The best investment you can make is to make an investment in yourself.
The more you learn, the more you'll earn.

Each episode lasts only about 8 mins (on YouTube, you can find many episodes)

Each episode basically has an enterprising problem, eg: fund raising, school's project, community small-time business, e-commerce. etc. A group of three friends would hold meetings with Mr. Buffett to pick his brains and the group would toss and discuss ideas and carry out their action plans. Not a bad series, quite an open learning concept.

A few examples from the various episodes I've watched:-

  • Location, location. Location.
  • Mindshare - be honest and sincere, never lie in your advertisement
  • Scheduling, budgeting, planning.complete the plan.
  • Preparation requires discipline to follow through.
  • Employee quotient
  • Save your best players for the last quarter.
  • Spend less than you earn. Save a little every month to buy equipment for business expansion.
  • Don't invest in businesses you don't know. Keep things simple.
  •  Be prepared to change your mind if someone makes more sense.
  • Do not invest in fickle consumer trends business.
  • Learn from your mistakes, or better yet- learn from the mistakes of others.
