Lab Rats - sporty or couchy

I've always enjoyed reading nuggets articles that I come across on local news papers on life sciences.

One such article I had read recently talked about how a person's enthusiasm and initiative to exercise is actually in the genes. Scientists studied 100 lab rats and observed 26 most self-motivating, active rats (sports enthusiasts) and 26 least active rats (couch potatoes). They then let the two groups multiply among its own group. Meaning the sporty ones reproduced among sporty ones and couch potatoes among couch potatoes.
Ten generations later, YES, TEN GENERATIONS LATER, the scientists found that the sporty offsprings are hundred times more active when compared to the 10th generation of couch potatoes. 100 times, how drastic is that?
