Good Morning, Vietnam!

I can't remember when,,, I suppose it was last November, we decided to make our maiden trip to Vietnam and we chose the old Saigon as we would like to see the city, now known as Ho Chi Minh.
Several weeks later, Bren casually asked PW if she wants to come and she just bought herself a ticket on the same flight and hopped on.  That made 3 of us visiting for the first time.

Look at how densely populated it is.

In-flight shopping.
These nail colour pens come with brush applicator as well as a fine tip applicator. Neat.

Taxi to the "hotel" (it's more like a motel, or a 2-star hotel) is at USD 9 and we gave the cabby 10USD.
(either that or dong $1800)  Exchange rate at Changi Airport was at 1 SGD = Dong $14,285.00 so, S$200 will make you a millionaire @ $2,857,000.0) If you change Dong at HCM,, you could get around Dong$16,000++ Keep some Dong for small street stalls but do keep USD handy, it is more economical to use USD (I've only realised that at the end of the trip!) Silly me.
Room rate for a Twin room is at USD45nett with breakfast, while single room at USD40.

We stayed at this *HOTEL*
The manager (I presume owner / owner's son) speaks English in a heavily Australian accent.

  1. Your trip looked fulfilling. Eat, eat, eat and drink. Did you shop a lot?
For a once in a blue moon trip without the kids, better not casually ask friends to come along. ;) Anyway, I guess PW must be a good company.
