Of course we were not prepared to find ourselves being locked out from our safe haven, we hadn't said goodbye to it, we hadn't thanked it for letting us use its quiet space while we revised and warmed up before class. Oh...... thank you secret stairwell! Thanks for bearing all the out-of-tune notes, thanks for bearing my bad temper, thanks for letting us have a place to hid and practise in private.
