Back to normal (or not so normal yet)

Due to CNY festivities, plus Lancelot at the workshop, our schedule has been a little topsy-turvy.
Supposedly, I prepare Recess lunchbox on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays but I had skipped many days. Every time, she'll tell me she doesn't know what to eat. She had trouble with Malay Nasi Goreng and some other spicy, peppery dishes. Mostly, she runs out of idea what to eat after looking at the long queues.

We leave the house at about 6.30am to catch the 6.45am public bus, so I hadn't had the time to cook.
Today, managed to squeeze in Baked Beans Rice. Happy.

As for Spelling, we made our own rhymes to make it easier to learn.
For instance, for the word "Bridge", we made our own rhyming sentence- Get rid of the bridge. It's easy to learn "r. i. d, rid". We make a silly rhyme like this - R, I, D, rid, get rid of the bridge- B R I D G E bridge. Incidentally, she reminds me that indeed 'they' (LTA) are going to get rid of our overhead bridges with the impending roadworks to make way for the MRT, three pedestrian bridges will be gone.

For the word "Catch" we say - Catch the Cat, C, A, T, C, H, catch. (Cat she knows, so just add CH)
For the word "People" we say- People Oh! People! P E 'O!" P L E, people. (because she forgets 'O', hence the emphasis on "O")

For the word "Flower" we say- Lower the Flower. (Lower she knows, so just add "F")

We don't drill writing, we just rehearse while walking or on the bus. Auditory learning saves us time. I think she's a auditory learner but of course, don't seal the learning method too soon or else become biased learner.

saw this picture on FB... had an urge to paint it.
