Saturday Part 2

Went Synwin to rehair our bow. Cost $55+++
Bought a cheaper bow for the time being as our bow has to be at the repair place for about 2 weeks.
Also bought a Metronome Tuner. For counting and tuning. Got to figure out how to use it.

Kiki watched a YouTube video and she wanted to do the 7-day-Vegan challenge.
In my head, I was thinking it won't be easy..... to find vegan food, even vegetarian food is also not easily available but we start with a Veg Sandwich since we've managed to find one.

Oh, I was really taken in by these Metallic Balloons. Those Marble Balloons were also nice but I was more fascinated by the metallic ones. I wished I could just spend my money without having to think at all. I WANT TO BUY ANY DAMN THING I FANCY. Because-- Why not.

Saturday

His phonics teacher says that if he could read back to her all the new words next week, she will graduate him from her phonics lesson. Thank you, Teacher Doris, for helping this little boy read aloud and read with confidence! A huge improvement from being labeled as having "learning challenge". Thank you!

KiCo sketched this for his classmate.

Then I sewed it and used it as a gift wrapper.

 Glitter Slime for his classmate.
(actually she asked for "LOL" bath bomb but it was too expensive for me to get that... $69.99 at Toys R us!) According to her mom, she liked the Slime so much she declared she was having a Slime party the day after her BD party.

Colin still looks like a baby.....

House Party

 Song selection

Syncing to play the same song on both devices

Again, the kids invited me to the room where a surprise was laid for me.
I dragged my butt to entertain them because most of the time, it was some tent, camping adventure or some kids' imaginary play. But this time, it was wow, fascinating!
They had a private event, a house party complete with blue UV light, spinning (manually, with hands)
It was so cool, I actually enjoyed the trance music, danced the song away with Kiki while Colin and my sis were like meh...... trance don't do a thing for them. Kiki and I, on the other hand, were high on just the music and lights. LOL. no need drinks. It was so much fun.

Keep going

If I ignore the time wasters and keep moving on, I will eventually be with people who ignores time wasters and are forward moving.

每一天都值得庆祝

Was quite a difficult morning but we shall be more than fine.
Time to have a new phase of life for my sis.
Focus on her work, it will be all right.

Happy International Women's Day!

Don't take for granted the ability to eat, shit, sleep.

Happy International Women's Day!
Don't fight with the boys.
Don't fight with the girls.
In fact, just don't fight.
Empower yourself to empower others.

Party

The poll says let him go to the party.
I'm leaning towards that too.

Troubled mind can't get quality rest.

 One-pot-dish for recess.

Today's the ABC alphabet soup but cooked with rice.
Will this count as Risotto? LOL.
I've been "Mom shamed" for cooking canned food... for a while I felt inadequate as a mom with no culinary skills. But then I think about the school canteen's food, of which are all processed food. Noodles and all the other convenient so called fillets etc. I think my canned food are the lesser of the devil, and I feel that my effort in planning ahead, cooking for them at 5.50 in the morning is more valuable than any shortfall of culinary skills. I don't get hung up on feeling bad anymore. I might not be a super-mom but my kids don't need a super-mom, they need me as me.

I had forgotten that I had registered for the seminar and had happily applied for annual leave......
So I will have to make my way back to a venue that's afar from where ever I might be. It's ok, it's all right, because when you're motivated for something, any blips will just be minor.
My much anticipated wonder material Graphene has still not been optimized..... however, I have come to accept a mellowed enthusiasm as a natural course for me to be more objective in whatever lies ahead. If you view this as a project that will last you 2 to 3 decades, I think I will have to pace myself and my energy in order to enjoy the process and be part of the transformation.  =)

So fast, I didn't quite sleep at all.

Life of a working mom is like a juggler, coordinating valuable stakes while tossing them in the air. The act of juggling has to have rhythm & sync, or else all stakes will fall out. So it's work, home, homework, finance, eat well, play well, live well.

I've been loosing sleep.
My eye lid has been flickering. I think a tiny LED in my brain neuron is flickering, injured by overloaded anxiety. I need to re-chart my outlook and repair my LED.

Sunday's BF with Colin

 Toast Face

while at Spotlight (the fabric & craft store)

Almost 10pm, finally got down to doing her homework.....

Why are Math questions Bar Games Quiz?  Ha ha.

Colin refused to go to bed because he didn't want to stop playing with the dough craft.

I announced - Listen up everyone! No one touches these, okay?
I assured him that no one will keep these away, he can resume his play the next day.
Indeed first thing after breakfast, he checked in on his dough.

Home life, Work life, what other aspects that makes up my whole life.
Travelling to workshop afar.

Repairing and re-certify the manifold & valves.

Leaning towards letting him skip class for this classmate's BD party......

 Seductive Root Beer.

Recess
Ham, Egg, Brown Rice cooked at 5.55 am

The Obstacle Is The Way

Steps to turn every adversity into advantage

Bren's brother custom-print these for his old school.
Left a few pieces for me to place in the retail box.
Unfortunately, these are not flying off the shelves, perhaps with customized print, we could make sale from volume orders. Well, I'm not holding my breath for that though. I need to think out-of-the-box, get creative.

The Breadwinner

Watched this yesterday. While I feel sad, sorry, injustice for them (I honestly did), I thought I must be thankful our living conditions are far, better. All those "positive thinking" slangs would tell you not to compare yourself with people who have more or are having a hell of a good time, they would ask you to count your blessings, be grateful for what you have and not to be greedy to want more because if you whine a teeny bit, they will ask you to see the sufferings of the rest of the world. By that, they attempt to make you feel bad about being dissatisfied. I have had enough of that. I do not trust anything that attempts to make me conform.

Kiki wrote me a note on a napkin while we were out, and when I got home, there was an Ang Bow on my night stand. She gave me $8. How sweet. I have never received an Ang Bow this lovely.

I told her that my spending of money has nothing to do with her. As in, it is my choice to spend my money on her, on Colin, and I am happy to do that, I would not change a thing. Of course I do struggle because I am not able to count on additional income source but I am alive and I still have a brain, I just need to take a short rest, re-organize, and we will surge on.

The bulk of my expenses besides the helper's salary & expenses, the biggest chunks are the kids' Chinese and  multiple music lessons. And I have not even counted everything else. As I look back at how we started our music journey, it was plainly to put their brains into exercise, right brain, left brain development. I asked myself if the intention still holds true now and the answer is current. They way I look at it is that I am not a saver, so even if I am not spending on them, I would have spent on other mindless stuff. So I don't feel bad about spending on them but I do sometimes feel lousy about giving up on my own desires. So now, I try to pay a little more attention to myself and acknowledge that I must also take care of my own needs and not live like a ghost.

Let me try to sew.
I don't think that I am good at it but I would like to try.
I will need to go to the library to borrow books on embroidery.

"A stitch in time saves nine"
Make the initial effort to save yourself foreseeable troubles.

My IG profile is - One Stitch Saves Nine, I came up with this theme and did this logo all under ten minutes while in bed, just before I fell asleep.
Neat?

The first thing I'm gonna sew is--- Huatever!
local pun from my Lohei escapades
