Funny how Tiger Moms are being hated and how we might never apologise.
Looks like it's not an Asian thing. Well, for Tonya's mom, I mean, they were not elites to begin with. So, it's not like the mom was a Kiasu mother, she was pushing her daughter to carry out an uncommon feat (figure skating triple axel) which comes easy for her daughter. What is dirtier is the snobbish, unspoken elitism that prevails sports and arts, perhaps even till today.
