Dinner Gathering
Unfortunately, Kiki still had her resistance when it comes to socializing with my cousins.
The only response she made was to wave good-bye. Other than that, all she did was cry. I guess I really ought to step up with my efforts to integrate her socially and hope that she learns to enjoy gatherings more next time.

While waiting in the long queue, Kiki entertained all the other domestic helpers there with her loud and clear singing with "Bahay Kubo"- a popular Philippine nursery song. She took pride with it as the other maids cheered and were clearly delighted to learn that a Chinese baby could sing their dialect song.

It is always exciting for a couple to have a new house, especially if it is their first.
Some couples are lucky to have their own matrimony home and enjoy privacy, while others may compromise living with relatives or in-laws, it's a complicated matter sometimes. Especially so when family planning involves infant care, child care and thereafter.

@ MBS
The intention was to occupy Kiki the whole day so that she doesn't nap and could sleep early in the night. This is because for over two weeks, she refused her regular bedtime. From 8.30pm it became 9.30pm and got later. She would cry and wail, and we have to wrestle her to bed.
We realised the change in sleep pattern and decided to have it back on track so that she turns in to bed in a favourable fashion. So, I took her out window-shopping at MBS and also to run around at the park outdoors.
Let me conceptualize on this.
It's like eating skinless KFC, what's the fun without getting cold and wet. But of course it is convenient. You don't have to don on thick clothing or gloves and many children had a great time while their parents pig-out at the foodcourt, so yes, I can live with that. Ice-less ice skating -_-
@ MBS
The breeze there is rapid and the man-made pond (with real lotus plants) added some serenity to an otherwise concrete jungle.

I've discovered this about her when she was just,,,,,,, eight or nine months old when we had some games activities at the enrichment class, instead of putting some strings or flowers onto the charts, she will be squashing everything into one hand, and squeezing those that spilled back into the hand. I think it's like her own personal game or she gets personal satisfaction from it, I don't know. I don't stop her but I observe. In this case, she couldn't squeeze all twelve jumbo crayons into one hand, I suggested that she tries it with two hands.
Hot Cross Bun
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-IkzKKia2M
Here, Kiki mimics playing on the saxaphone to the tune of "Hot Cross Bun".
She learnt the tune from her music class and could sing in notes :-
E-D-C
E-D-C
C-C-D-D
E-D-C
But she has yet to play it on the xylophone. (two of her classmates are able to).
It is quite amazing to learn that children are naturally able to sing or play a tune.
They also pick up very fast. For me, I am also learning!

Polaroid Shades (for Kids!)
Benefits:-
Polaroid polarized lenses block out virtually 100% of glare.
100% UV400 protection against UVA, UVB and UVC rays
Reduced eye fatigue
Accurate colour perception
Greater visual definition through enhanced contrasts
You can spot fishes in a glaring pond. You can see the cars clearly while driving in the rain (daytime). You can see the beauty of the leaves on trees when the glare is being filtered out through the lens. You have to use a pair to really know the difference.
So you can imagine my delight when I found that they also have shades for children.
@ The Pool
Not often, but it may be troublesome to return to the store for an exchange,. especially if you live a distance from it. But really, how often do we check if the toy is working while at the store? In my case, almost never.
Anyway, we had this toy turtle for months without opening it from its sealed package as we didn't think to check its condition nor were about to use it any time soon but when we did, alas it is a malfunction unit. =(
Nevertheless, we still have lots of fun with Turtle. (Since she never knew how it would have swam, she wasn't disappointed that it isn't working).
Monstrous Nails
Kiki loves playing with Playdoh, though many of her clothing are stained with the sticky material and wouldn't come off. But we do have some fun rolling up a snowman and shape-cutting other things like shark, seahorse, etc. with the cut-out templates that come with the pack. We also have pretend play, making cupcakes & cookies to go along with tea.

8th May 2011

Anyway, we went to the Airport just to hangout and eat.
It is Mother's Day but we didn't celebrate it in a big way.
I think, to spend time together is good enough.

I jokingly wished to take the trolley home. You know, a good pram is very costly. It can be almost two thousand dollars. *sigh.
