Jungle Book

 Brought KiCo to watch Disney's Jungle Book last night.
We all enjoyed the show, especially me.
I had totally forgotten the Jungle Book tale, I had only remembered the Bear that sang.

I've always felt that the adults actually need to watch more of children's movies. We need to hear the embedded messages  more than children do.

The young boy, Mowgli, played by actor- Neel Sethi, is charming and charismatic. He delivered well.

(excerpts from the Law of the Jungle)

"Now this is the Law of the Jungle --  as old and as true as the sky;
And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper,  but the Wolf that shall break it must die."

Mowgli survived the Jungle because he was loved and adopted as its own by the Head Wolf and its partner. In a wolf pack, the leader will not be opposed in the face of external challenge. Mowgli survived the Jungle because he is by nature, not an aggressor. In fact, he expressed selflessness in saving others' lives, he expressed empathy; something some animals or even human are incapable of. However, in the Animal World, they distrust Man. So, it was a challenge for Mowgli, being a Man Cub, to be accepted as an inhabitant of the Jungle. Furthermore, even if his animal friends would fight to defend Mowgli, most of them could not out-fight the Tiger, a tiger with an axe to grind.

Go watch the movie if you get the chance.
