The Grandpa is 86. He bathes at 4.30 in the morning. Without hot or warm water.
He is used to bathing in cold water and he doesn't feel cold.
I get woken up sometimes because I could hear the water running into the pipes. Not just noisier than my alarm clock, but more concerning is that he lets the water hose run in full tap while he showers. He doesn't turn on or off the tap as he uses but leaves it on running full in the duration of his shower. There is no need to get angry at him although I do feel heartache on water wastage. He is unable to reason, nor will he remember. That's just one of the effects of dementia. They are fixated with their familiar routine. But he remembers his birthday. Happy Birthday, Jimmy.
