Who receives Christmas presents in March?
Finally got to meet Steph and here are the gifts she's bought for KiCo.
She was telling me that this is what her Yiyi will be doing with her, painting Easter Eggs.
We found a stair well that few people use.
Because of the void, the sound from the violin is being echoed and each skewed tone and mistake is very much pronounced. This makes spotting errors easy but it also means sometimes I cringe more.
Time is quite tight on Saturdays, she has ballet, playtime (she must play....) lunch, nap, and then we take a cab to UE, grab a bun, warm up for 5 minutes before class.
Of the entire class of 11 (there used to be 15?), these two girls light up each time they find each other.
They would be demure if one of them has not arrived, but the moment they spot each other, all hell break loose.
They run, shriek, laugh loudly, crawl under the bench, dig into an existing hole in the wall, what else,,, Jolene does cartwheels, ya. you know, the two of them are just like the best of naughty duo pals. Really.
I am so envious.
Hide-and-seek
Pushing the wall for whatever reasons....
Taa-daa!
The rare jelly.
I tell you how rare.
In the 16 months that I've attended this class, I have only witness the teacher giving out these jellies on four other occasions. The first time was during the first lesson. She told the children to sit down and be quiet while she taught us (parents) the lessons. At the end of the hour-long session, she gave out three jellies to the only three kids who had behaved. The class was stunned and many children were close to tears, including Kiki. But that was it, the teacher reinstated her stand and that was that. Two other times were for two other kids who played really well. And last week, was for three parents who managed to pass an impromptu test........
So we were really delighted when Kiki was given a jelly last Saturday. She was asked to play "Perpetual Motion" but skip all the "E" notes. Play the whole song; pause & skip whenever there's an "E". That little girl did it with a small hitch but majorly, she did very well. Her teacher was very impressed. The hard earned jelly must taste sweeter! =)
A1 also had a good buddy. Same pattern as the girls. Everything broke loose once they were with each other. For my boys, they always have sweet during their chinese lesson. In France, we have to be fair to everyone. Sometimes, that's not very motivating.

Indeed. Just imagine if everyone gets the same salary regardless aptitude... that's demotivating.
