I don't know what went wrong... the banana cake didn't rise. I had forgotten to add sugar (one cup!) and I didn't think it would matter but I've just learned from my colleague that sugar is definitely needed for the cake to rise. What a waste, it smelled so good while in the oven.... I was so looking forward to eating it, after all, I haven't baked for 26 years!
