擦抹的! Argh!

I had taught her that it is as "Ma" 擦(桌子)- her school's prescribed reading book
while this is "Ca" 抹(桌子)- her Chinese enrichment class' flash cards

I didn't realise that I had taught both words wrongly until we were reading a Chinese story book that has Hanyu Pingying and I had a double-take. This is crazy!

This is Ca 擦 and this is Ma 抹!   擦抹的!

Well, at least now I know. Hope Kiki would be able to re-learn fast.
By the way, what's the diff between  擦 and 抹?  I've explained that 擦 is cleaning with a dry cloth (sweeping) while 抹 is with a wet/damp cloth as in mopping. Whatever.
