I stumbled across this Japanese gadget called the "Lip Trainer"
It was first developed by speech therapists who were treating stoke patients with a set of facial exercises - "papa....
tata.... kaka.... rara" hence, its name- "Patakara".
With continued use and experiments, the doctors soon discovered a host of other fringe benefits this gadget could bring about. This is because they've discovered that by training the lips to stay closed and by breathing through the nose; increased blood flows to the Pineal Gland in our brain.
Besides prevention of age related diseases like Alzheimer & Dementia, this gadget claims to eliminate... Snoring! and Sleep Apnea. (Sleep apnea is a type of sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing or instances of shallow or infrequent breathing during sleep).
Bren has a snoring problem and he has asked for one of these after reading its manual and watching me use it faithfully last weekend.
You could get the Lip Trainer from Tan Tock Seng, KK Hospital, SGH, or at the kiosk at Liang Court (2nd floor) You could also read up more from their website http://www.liptrainer.com
