We went Liang Court after class on Saturday.
Teacher S called out and checked all the students one by one. Kiki failed in all basic areas.
Standing position - she leaned back like a Fiddler (the correct position is to lean forward),
she didn't have "sticky bow"/ heavy bow, eyes not always on bow. etc. It was quite demoralising that I have to keep repeating these basic stuff to her. Teacher says these days many children are just too used to having the Mothers do all the thinking.
One mother came to tell me in a very concerned tone, she thinks the new violin is too big. She says from where she's sitting, she could see that Kiki is stretching too hard to reach the lower notes. We checked with teacher S, she says it is bigger than perfect size but she didn't insist we use back the old one. I think we will just use the old one and leave the new one for classes with teacher C. Complicating lah!
I had forgotten that she has piano recital in the afternoon and I booked movie tickets for - Paddington...
