Shop

Going Green, inside out.

As I had trouble distinguishing Kiki's milk bottle teat from Colin's as they both use Avent bottles, I've decided to get Kiki an entirely different bottle. I've tried letting her use teat #1 so that I can use all the same teat without having to spot the difference but the flow was too slow for her and she minded, she kept telling me :"Mama, open please." (she meant open to quicken the flow of milk) Ha ha, I thought I could fool her.

Pacifiers don't go beyond 18 months. I mean, there isn't one that says 24 to 36 months isn't it?

Yesterday afternoon, while sucking on her pacifier, she pulled it off and said to Maricar, "Maricar, I LIKE my chu-chuk very much." (with emphasis)

Living with an Old Folk

It is very stressful for me that my FIL is under my care.
Not because of all the cleaning, mopping including handling soiled daipers and clothing and the hours at doctor's appointments, but because he insists to go out on his own when it is apparent that he is incapable of taking care of himself now. If he gets lost or falls down while he's out then it would really be trouble. You can see in the picture above, he obviously was having dizzy spells but he still insists on going out. He stood at the door for 20 mins before lying down.

After 30 mins of "not giving up", he went out and didn't come back.

It was thunderous and dark clouds were hoarding so I went out to look for him.

Thank goodness I happened to catch a glimpse of him from the glass window in the lift and found him sitting at the lift landing on the 2nd floor. If I had missed seeing him I would have searched the whole estate.

It is easy to say that we must not let him out of the house but it is very tough containing him. He will turn nasty and angry when he feels his freedom being restricted.

I asked him what he was doing sitting there, he couldn't answer.

I am really having a migraine.

My FIL has to undergo a surgery to remove a bad kidney and I worry about the risk involved as well as his recovery process given the frail state he is in now.

@ The Beach

Mounted the curb but after a while, she got the hang of it pretty well.

I went: "STEP ON THE PEDAL, THE PURPLE PEDAL. HARDER, STEP ON IT HARDER"

"LOOK STRAIGHT! KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE WHEEL. TWO HANDS! TURN LEFT, STEP HARDER, TURN RIGHT."

(Give clear, specific instructions. That's what I thought would work best. And so, I think I may come across like a platoon commander just now. Ha Ha not funny but it works, she did well. My sis and I were satisfied that she passed our standards the first time. Ya, we pretty much will expose her to whatever sporty stuff we like. You know, my sis could cycle on two wheels when she was just four. Ya, it was a BMX, and yes, I guided her but it was her guts.)

@ The Beach

A variety of designs, the racing car and jeeps. (Bigger cars are $10 for 15 mins, smaller ones like the one Kiki has, are $6)

(the above is non-motorized, looks quite interesting, like a go-cart but taller.)

@ The Beach

She finished the plain water and we were left with Coke.

The whole time we were riding this, we thought of having Ryan, Anna, Da Jie, Er Jie all together. Then we can all paddle very hard together. Ha Ha Ha.

But really, this thingy is expensive. $40 for an hour to hire. Furthermore, you paddle like stupid and it doesn't move as fast. Good leg exercise if that's what you want. But for an experience at least, you may like to try as it is a little fun riding on this cart-like quadcicle.

Shoes

I hesistated getting these because they are a little heeled and I worry Kiki doesn't know how to handle kitty heels, you know, she's still a toddler. But these are really dainty and at a price I couldn't miss ($16.90, yes, Isetan is having a sale, I know!) After two gentle falls, Kiki moved around quite ok in these. I guess her vainty preceded and she mastered the skill. Well, I know I'm guilty with this but it is only this one pair (for now).

@ The Beach

Taking my MIL out for a stroll. Of course she doesn't stroll, she sits on a wheelchair. You know, it is very heavy to push up a slope or controlling it downslope before it hits a hump, that will take some practise for me.

She can't cycle in this little bicycle. I don't know if it is the design of the bike or is it she hasn't got the leg strength.

The big, little, bundle. Throughly comfy & sleep out.

Kiki said: "put it back, put it back to the tree!" and she transferred half a dozen leaves to the bottom of the tree.

"That's 'decomposition', back to nature," the father said.

"That's a big word" the mother said.

Handy Manny

Each time she finds the Allen key, she would play "mechanic". I believe this was influenced by both Mickey Mouse and Handy Manny. You know, cartoon sticks! (sticks to the mind, I mean)

Colin (Baby)

(This one is so cute!)

Two Thousand & Twelve

I was hesistant to get a pocket diary because most of my diaries are filled halfway and I loose steam after June. However, I would still need it because I prefer the one-glance-sees-all kind of calendar planner, plus in this coming year, I think we are fully loaded. First of all, Kiki will be attending an all-Mandarin, Chinese Class at "Tian Xia", I am grateful there's one centre nearby and they take children from 3. Cost $290 for ten lessons over about 2.5 - 3 months. Whatever the case, I'll be busy, so I'd better jot everything down.

Random Reads

Suspense novels are like Korean melodramas, some of those you watch disc after disc and it goes on for hours before you realise it is 4am. For a book, it will be page after page. The only plus is that I get to refresh or learn a few new words from a book. Other than that, I can't help feeling both phony and corny as I could predict rather accurately on how the plot unravels. Still, it beats a magazine and it is also lighter to be lugged around.

Caterpillars

Look at what Kiki did, she turned her daddy's eyebrows into caterpillars.

Colin (Baby)

Baseball Player Outfit sponsored by Jasmine who visited us last week.

She gave us loads of boy's clothing, we can use for the lunar new year soon!

Many babies make the "Q" mouth, I think they are exercising their oral muscles. I think.

Living with an Old Folk

Today's Lunch

Have milk, will travel.

A colouring set to keep Kiki occupied for a while.
It's payday and we went Lucky Plaza to bank in Maricar's salary (again). I believe she has made quite a neat saving and is happy about her achievement. Before we went to the bank, we had to eat as I was very hungry.

Maricar enjoyed Marche very much, she said it feels like she's in a European country.

Today

Making faces under a mask.
