Piano Repair Guy

The piano repair guy came over. He is an ethical repair guy. 

He advised against repair work and tuning because he says that the piano given to us is way too old. 

He says that although it is German brand, the unit is Korean made, which should still be fine but the unit had been poorly maintained. He says if he were to tune it, we will risk more strings snapping. To fully repair it, he says will take $800. He proceeded to replace two of the broken strings, oiled the rest of the string, and fixed the plug for the humidifier. He says that for casual playing, the piano might be okay but surely not for serious practicing. So...... we'll make-do for the time being.
