Animal Freedom Fighter

This movie is in Korean (with a little mix of English). It is one of the contesting films at the Cannes Film Festival. I don't know why, but it may make you feel a little sad because I think we are all not wired to eat pets. The movie is about the friendship between a "Super Pig" GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) pig that was bred from the lab but was raised in the wild (as a trial project over ten years).

The little girl does not know that her pig was a GMO. She thought that she was partaking in a research programme and had been feeding back data to the scientists since she was four. Her pig- Okja, behaves like a playful puppy and they have a strong bond.

The day came when the Organization came to retrieve their Super Pig. There was a lot of commotions especially when a team of Animal Freedom Fighters intervene with an agenda of their own. Lots of complications due to the high stake in rebelling the corporation and police.

I wonder if all those actors, actresses, producers of the film really do not eat meat or eat meat from happy, free range animals, since they seem rather resolute with a message to share.

are they all non-meat eaters? or anti-GMOs
