Amazon - Fitbit Flex 2
Amazon has this new feature where you pay in your local currency.
I had meant to check its exchange rate when I clicked the orange button but turned out it processed my order instantly!
Luckily, the price on Amazon is still lower than what I the Singapore retailers are selling at. No wonder there have been lots of complaints from local retailers, how are they to compete? (Warehousing, retail outlet rental, staff overheads, operational costs). Furthermore, Amazon does not own any transportation fleets, they outsource delivery. Amazon is now in Singapore. Welcome to the world's richest person.
I am using these stickers, just to spruce up my work documents.
Yay! We've found a sponsor for our concert performance.

Sundays with Colin - Picnic @ Wisma Atria
As per usual, we went to town to find a random place to eat and spend some time together.
We went to a free-seating restaurant known as "Picnic" that is located at Wisma Atria (Orchard).
We were pleasantly surprised that there were live music-- two violinists, to be exact.
They played songs like - Beauty and the Beast, Tomorrow (Annie), My Heart Will Go On (Celine Dion), New York, New York (Frank Sinatra), Canon in D (Pachelbel), we were in for a treat =)
Thank you for the music
Someone from the Temple was upgrading their piano and wanted to give away their old unit. My Shifu recommended that we have it. I was hesitant because there is no space in my home. But my Shifu still recommends that I reconsider. I discussed with Bren and we decided to accept the piano.
It is a used Steinburg (Germany), it has several keys that are totally spoiled; they gave a "twaaaaanng" sound and the children had a good giggle since they find it amusing. We will need to get it repaired and tuned.
Last night, Colin asked if he could play on the piano.
I was like - Sure, go ahead.
(I was in the room going through the 10 pages of English worksheet with Kiki).
Then came the sweet music. The boy played - "Ode to Joy" on the piano. Right hand only. But it was sweet music. Boy, I had no idea he plays not bad.
Wonderful! Now the two of them could really use the used piano.
Thanks for giving us your used piano

Saturdays - "天天向上"
Our violin progress is so unstable.
One week we were being told off,
following week we were okay for having improved.
I wished we could call ourselves - "Dark Horse" but we can't live up to that term.
"Dark Horse" means there's a secret potential that had not been made known.
We, on the other hand, are like a condemned student who sometimes surprises by catching up.
We don't have any secret potential, we are what you see-- raw.
Whatever the case, we just keep going because we enjoy torturing ourselves with challenges.
Spare the rod, spoil the child.

What work on a Saturday looks like
This is the Invisible Economy talking.. Mini Nasi Lemak straight from Malaysia on a Saturday morning (from my colleague). In this packet, there were just coconut rice, chilli & ikan bilis. The chilli was spicy yet I couldn't stop eating it.
Getting an equipment ready for delivery on Monday.

Acai
Choose "Healthy"
But it tasted terrible.
Like rotting berries.
Maybe it's an acquired taste.
So, I might try again but probably not so soon.

TGIPD - Thank Godness It's Payday!
On way to work this morning
When my friend told me about her troubles, I replied:-
"My Life is not Ideal hence, I deal with it".
It's PAYDAY but I'm barely breathing.....
Slayed one-third of my credit bill, pending everything else and I will be left a pauper the whole of August again.... HANG IN THERE! This is only temporary. Go eat some ice cream.
Thank Goodness for my Job & Salary
When my friend feels troubled, I say :-
Find a woman, whose heart has never been broken.
Chances are, she's never been married.
If only I could make money from my own quotes
What is this silly filter? LOL.
It's Friday and you can't celebrate because you still gotta work the following day.
Gifts from Yiyi - Umbreon
Kiki's Yiyi had her friend buy these for Kiki from Japan. They are tokens to encourage her journey in school, swimming, piano & violin.
Umbreon is Kiki's favourite Pokemon, she says Umbreon is an evolution from Eevee, which is also one of her favourites.

Crooked Theory
very rich cheese ice cream
improving, sometimes up, sometimes down.
all boils down to effort.
i've told her that Ting Xie is actually not a test, or its a reversal test, like cheating.
she asked what I meant.
I said, all the answers have been given beforehand, how is that a test?
that will be a test on whether you've put in an effort to learn.
with all the answers given, there is perfectly 100% chance to score 100%
isn't that so?
since then, with my crooked theory, she has made vast improvement.
p.s: I like her handwriting =)

The Invisible Economy
There was this lady, she is a trained lawyer but she had gotten married and stopped her practice. She took care of her two kids until they were 14 and 12 years old. Then came a family crisis, her hubby got into some kind of scandal and went to jail. She found herself thrust into the role of the breadwinner and she had to wrestle for jobs with people 15 years younger. Anyway, one of her old Uni friends is a partner at a firm. He wants to hire her but the board will have to vote because there are other applicants who are equally promising. Her friend in high places indirectly asked a board director to vote for this lady, which the board director did. So this middle-age lawyer lady started work at a junior position. She proved worthy and gained recognition after two years there. Then came the day where she had the budget and headcount to hire a junior assistant. She had select candidate B over another candidate A, however, to her astonishment, her management turned away candidate B and hired candidate A for her (candidate A being a niece of a board director). This lady was furious, she confronted her supervisor (her ex-Uni friend), it was then her friend revealed to her that two years back he had asked for a favour from the director to swing his vote for her and now it is time for him to return the favour and to hire the director's niece. This is an example of "The Invisible Economy" in terms of Business. By the way, candidate A didn't know of her privilege, plus she is also a superb, efficient & effective lawyer, so in that sense, she just needed the chance to prove herself. So anyway, that is what they call it The Invisible Economy, a network of friends to get thing moving. My kind of Invisible Economy is less complex. It involves just small, little stuff we do for each other, like getting breakfast or bringing back some nice food from nice restaurants, or recommending each other the good stuff (example now it's the fermented kefir craze, so we make our own fruit vinegars that taste like wine).
