'Dragon Blood' -- A plant secretion for skin repair.

Kiki's T-shirt says - Shift Happens =)

Plastic Flowers

Plastic Flowers made from plastic bags.

Our office made so many flowers for that SG 50 thingy, now everyone knows how to make them.
After breakfast, my colleague used the small, plastic bag that contained her Nasi Lemak or some Malay dish to make a flower and taped it onto her writing pen. Quite cheerful isn't it.

A token for our participation.

Think before you speak

What constitutes to a Gossip?

Some people feels that as long as they're not making things up, or as long as they are telling the truth; it's not gossip.

That is so not true. You know why?

Because truth changes. And so what if you're telling the truth.

For me, it is best to check one's intentions;
even if a piece of information is factual, is it kind or necessary to carry the tale?

I've came across a THINK checklist but I forgot what the 'H' was about. Honest? Helpful?

'THINK' Checklist:-

True - is it true?
H ***
Inspiring - is it inspiring or discouraging?
Necessary- is it necessary to carry the story? if not, shut up.
Kind- is it kind? if not, shut up.

Sticky Seats

There was once the train was crowded but not fully packed. Kiki proceeded to sit at one of the dark blue seats; both were not taken at that time. I told her 'No' and to get up because the seats are reserved. She didn't understand and made a 'but-I'm-so-tired-from-all-the-walking" face. Pointing to the sticker above, I asked if she was any of the above. I went on to tell her that unless one is injured, old or whatever shown, one is not to take up those seats. Then suddenly, one chap stood up (from among the light blue seats) and offered Kiki his seat. Oops..... I was just talking to Kiki and perhaps got a tad energetic.

Later on I learned that actually, only one of the dark blue seats is reserved (not both). I asked why then are both coloured differently and was informed that because the seat moulds come in pairs or row (not singular).

Anyway, every time I see these reserved seats I laugh to myself. I think I am more than a tad too serious. It's like the school's "moral education" never did end for me. Honestly, sometimes I think being too rigid makes me a little too........ unapproachable or hard. Anyway, I'll always be reminded to lighten-up now since every time I see these seats my mind smiles.

John Wick

The theme of a retired underworld pai-gia who had to get personal after an ignorant punk killed the puppy his late wife left for him and stole his Mustang 429.

After that, we went for duck noodles and a beer.

Make A Difference

 Model S20 $29

Whenever I share with someone about Solar Lamp or Battery Pack, they always ask me how much it costs.
Then they tell me that utilities cost for low voltage lighting and charging is not expensive. They added that the gadgets do not save substantial money or that it is cumbersome to always have to put the solar panels under the sun. Maybe I had talked to the wrong audience, or maybe that's a general view. Anyway, I think Solar powered gadgets are cool and I will find more of them. If you wish to get one, please email fairoz.ahmad@gmail.com; they travel often and do not have an office; so please be patient with their respond time.

 Model S300 $59
Note: unable to charge iPhone as iPhone doesn't work with accessories it doesn't recognize.
I was also unable to charge a mini-speaker, so............. this works mainly as a portable lamp for the moment.

Hair Bow

I can tell you; I'm hopeless with any sort of tying of hair. I can't even tie a neat ponytail but I do enjoy looking at all sorts of pleats, plaits and braids hairstyles cos they are so dainty. I came across a short demo video on FB and was inspired to try because it looked easy. So here are the Hair Bow & Snake Braid.

In-between

The Gavotte I've mapped looks so messy but we're getting there, inching there.

A trainer once shared a story about his visit to India. He said during that visit there was a strike going on. The people were very unhappy about the poor transportation (buses) system, there were only ten buses  to ply the town from which eight of the buses broke down after wear-and-tear hence the people couldn't get to work, home, school, anywhere; there just wasn't enough buses and the bus operator didn't have capital to buy more buses. In the end, the matter was resolved when the people set fire and burnt the two, remaining buses down. The trainer himself being Indian, commented - "Ha! ok lah, now all walk lah, walk a longer distance lah" (It's like - what were you thinking!).  He questioned the people while he was there, because he felt that it was counter-intuitive, but the people maintained that by destroying the remaining two buses, they were averaging out since there wasn't enough buses to have an effective system anyway, so now everyone could be sympathized equally.

I don't know what relevance that story has with my mock-smashing of the violin.
I only intended to tell Kiki that if she was not happy to practise then we might as well smash the violin so she doesn't have to practise anymore. So I mock-smash the violin onto the bed and I couldn't get it to sing again! Gosh. It went out-of-tune. How now brown cow, it was only Sunday and we will still have to practise during the week! So darn counter-intuitive right! -_-"  I thought that I would easily be able to tune the violin since it looks to me like twisting of the knobs & pegs. But, No..... End up Bren took the violin to the school nearby and the staff helped to tune it last night. *Sigh.

One Day at USS

Kiki takes after my sis; they both love roller coaster thrill rides.

On Tuesday, her lower-front tooth was removed by the dentist as it was decaying, plus she had five cavities to fill. This time, the tooth fairy left her $2 (actually intended to leave $5 but took out the wrong note as it was pitch-dark) Anyway, with $2 she bought these LED fiber optics lights outside USS.

We stayed at the Festive Hotel for a night, and she made a highest-ever personal record; scoring '90' on Rush Hour.

We went Slappy Cakes for breakfast the next morning.
I thought I could make some nice-looking doodles with the pancakes but errr......
