Happy Birthday, Kann.
we are so blessed with two beautiful babies, one sweet family and supportive life.
one evening, Kiki's teacher did a review with me on the telephone. she raised an observation that Kiki seemed to be a little emotionally insecure (always seeking approval or assurance), and asked what our home situation is like. that took me by surprise and as i explained about the two elderly folks handicapped with stroke and dementia, and about Charmaine, and about how i reach home every night and i don't get to see the kids or even if i do, there is no quality time, i choked back my tears. i had not realised how this may have an effect on Kiki. time and attention is being spread so thinly that she may feel neglect. but that honestly is not the reason i cried. the reason is that it sounded so much like me before and it breaks my heart if that's the challenge she has. well, to look at the good in the bad, at least we now know about it and could do something about it. the teacher advised that it was good that i've told her more so that she knows that the insecurity stems from a real need and not out of attention seeking. for me, i was just surprised that as much as i had conditioned my mind that all is well, i realised that i was just putting on a brave front. well, all is not that dire a situation, we are doing fine. it is just the quality of life that could be better and I hope we get there.
well, like what i've learned in NLP, there's no failure, only feedback. so ya, here is a feedback to tell me to let go of trying to be everything and it is important to be present, especially with my children.

Year End Parent's Day
we reached her school just in time to watch her sing the last part of the song her class was performing =(
i rushed from work actually. nevertheless, it was a good thing we were there, the kids were thrilled to have their parents in school and were all beaming with pride.

Colin - recent
I'm glad that while I am busy at work, some of the days when Brendan finishes work early, he brings Colin & Maricar out. For meals, snacks or plain window shopping.
Over the years, many people have asked if I had mind that my partner isn't one that traditionally works in an office, nine-to-five kind of guy, nor does he runs a business or is seemingly earning less.
To many, we are somewhat having a role reversal. This question can't be answered in one minute but if they really have to know, I would tell them that I appreciate the support that Bren gives and that it works well for us. Thank you!
Weekend Get-aways
One friend talked about some cheap airfare some months ago and immediately booked tickets for all five of us. So we all scooted off to Kuala Lumpur last weekend for some laughters, hot-news, shopping and munching. Return air ticket was only SGD 115 and we all shared a two-bedroom suite, each paying about 70$ for the accommodation (? Sorry I can't remember the cost, all I did was pay).
There was this cosy cafe that opens till 3am. We chatted and laughed till tears rolled.
They must have found us a tad noisy but well, it was just funny, the jokes we had.
The view from our service suite.
The hawker fare in K.L is somewhat different from what we have here in Singapore. I dare say that they are more innovative with their dishes and have lots of funsion food. Some may sound unpalatable eg: curry-chee-cheong-fun, while others are experimenting with texture of the staple, eg: ying-yang hor fun (the regular wet hor fun mixed with deep fried crispy been hoon), and also ying-yang veggies (crispy veg mixed with stir fried ones), etc.
We had so much funny incidents like having a cabby with a shattered windscreen telling us not to buckle the seat belt, and another cabby who had a live chicken in the front seat pecking away at my friend's feet. So much commotions that we eventually missed our flight home, scrambled for the last flight and thankfully got home in time to shower, rest, and go to work!
To get to town, you just need to purchase one of these express train tickets. RM70 for a return trip.
It brings you from the airport to town in about 35 minutes (minus waiting time of averagely 20mins)

I didn't go get my future read as there wasn't a desire for it that night.
Many future readers told me that my life is perfect and that I am wealthy but why haven't I felt so?
Perhaps what I ought to do is to let my anxiety go. Anxiety with almost everything.
Perhaps then, life will flow.

Birthday - Prelude
Another one of my presents; the iPod Shuffle. It's so sexy, the size of a slice of Lindt chocolate you could almost just eat it. Can't wait to put some pop songs in there. I had wanted the iPod nano but they had phased it out! The newer nanos are not as tiny..... oh man!
