Today we were at the Polyclinic for the 6-in-1 jab and were there for 2 hours (!) despite having made an appoinment. This is because it was Colin's first visit and it was compulsory to see the doctor before the jab. Also, the Polyclinic do not endorse giving the 6-in-1 jab until the baby is 6 months old. This is totally different from what is being practised at SGH. I do not know what is the official reason but the nurse said that because there is a risk of baby developing a temperature after the jab and they cannot prescribe panadol to infants below two months hence they do not administer the 6-in-1 so early. But the doctor endorses it and caused confusion among the nurses, hence the delay because the nurse had to go to a supervisor to get the computer system "open" to enter our file case. etc etc. I hope this jab will be uneventful.
