Christmas 2011

Baby Colin is a hot favourite with everyone. All of the people there took turns to carry him. Staff and other customers too.

Note to self:- Do not get the beer from tap. Get bottled or can ones.

Recent Foodie

Fat boys- Grill, Bistro, Bar at Joo Chiat.
We went to this burger bar because my colleague - Jonathan said it was not bad.
Turned out the servings were quite big, apt for a Fat Boy indeed. and beer goes 1-for-1 after 10pm.

The fries were as long as my palm. Fat and long.

Look at him, seriously tasting the drink.

You see, there wasn't a regular Stout available, there was only "Surger Draught Stout" which the waitress couldn't tell us how it was different. I suggest to try the drink hence he gave it a very serious review after the first sip. Blah! So I took a sip to verify. Blah! It's like Coke Light if you know what I mean. Blend and tasteless. Later that night, I googled on it and discovered the specialty is that the drink works with an electric coaster gadget that surges ultrosonic vibrations through the glass of stout and mixes the nitrogen with CO2 etc that will give you a totally smooth and creamy glass of stout. The texture was perfect but the taste is too blend. Unless you are not a stout drinker, you may like the drink. It is extra smooth, really. But tasteless, really.

(can you see that the froth is creamy and not bubbly?)

Recent Foodie

I like these BBQ wings at the Dunman Hawker Centre.

We drink Stout everywhere. At pubs, coffeeshops and at home. I like bitter stuff. There is sweetness in bitterness. The taste lingers longer.

These satays are not bad but they are not fatty enough for me, they are "healthy and leaner", if you know what I mean. (coffeeshop)

Dunman Hawker - these Wanton Noodles are,, okay. I would score it - 4 out of 10. Don't just take it from me okay, I may be a tad biased because I prefer soggy noodles with very porky smelling taste.

Dunman Hawker - these Or Luak are again a tad "healthy", not oily enough but I guess less oil is for everyone's "better good".

This book caught my attention because I am always feeling cold and I really hope that soon to come, I will be able to boost my body heat as I feel that being cold most of the time is a sign of the body being weak. True enough, this book (written by a Chinese physcian) goes on to explain that the human body is designed in such a way that we are able to dissipate heat and self-regulate when hot but our bodies are not much able to generate heat if we're immobile. Hence, we may not die when we're at 40 degree celsius but each degree loss after 37 degree celsius spells danger. 36 degree you may start to shiver and if you are always at 35 degree celsius, it is a fertile ground breeding ill health. The condition is known as "chronic hypothermia", which I believe is a condition I'm facing and I would really want to get out of it. You know, just that day I brought Kiki to her ballet class and while waiting, I drank half a cup of ice-blend lemon drink and my feet turned grey, my toes (nails) turned purple. My feet were like corpse. What was worse was I was in fact wearing long pants. It didn't help, I was dead cold. So anyway, I must really do something about this. Who would think that a city dweller in a tropical city would be cold.

Six main reasons for loosing body heat:-

1. Insufficient Exercise

2. Stress

3. Shower (the theory supports Hot, Steam Bath and not a "superficial" shower)

4. Over-eating (it says too much energy is being used to digest the food hence using up our otherwise natural heat. it goes on to support eating till you feel 80% full and not 100% full)

5. Consuming too much water. (it goes on to explain that not all body-types require 1-2 litres of water daily. it explains that like over-watered plants, the veins in our body may "rot". also, if you have water retention, you loose body heat too.)

6. Overuse of medication.

This section goes on to explain why a hot, steam bath is so ever important to detoxify the body, and how we must stop making excuses.

And lastly, there's mention of this herb- "ge geng" in a soup, "ge geng tang", which I must go find out more about it.

Okay, I hope I've shared with you what I feel is important to anyone of you (especially women) who may wish boost your body tempreature.

Hansel & Gretel

I didn't realise that my FIL marked the walls until Maricar told me.
I found an "x" on the wall of our lift lobby on the ground floor, and other markings at our door.
This is his way of finding his way back when he gets lost but I think it didn't help, he was still lost a few times afterwards.

A Hint of Jealousy

We borrowed this hanging mobile playpen from Anna.

Getting crowded in there.

When we first assembled this playpen, Kiki refused to let her brother use it. Although she knows she has outgrown this, she still refused to get out. There are subtle hints of jealousy whenever we let Colin have something new, like a toy, or read a book etc, Kiki would want to participate. Well, it's good to do things together then.

Colin (Baby)

Maiden Haircut

The Papa appeared aloof when I told him that I'm bringing Colin for his first haircut but he actually cared a lot to be there. He made sure he shuffled his schedule and made himself available for the ceremony. He said he was there for Kiki's first haircut and would like to be there for Colin's too.

We went to the same shop at PP and the price is still at $20. We have not been there since Kiki's first haircut there, for one, I think a $10 haircut is good enough but for the first cut, we will splurge.

His only protest was that we woke him up from his nap. zzzzzzz

See? What a yawn.

After 30 years

After 30 years, we are still trying to get people move to the rear of the bus.

After 30 years, we are still not courteous nor kind. But guess who gets reinvented? Singa.

Catching it live

Last week, we went to watch Hi-5 one more time.

I thought she was fooling around with my camera....... until much later did I review my camera that I saw the photo she's taken (below). Looking through her eyes.
