An Outing

HJ with Kiki

Eating Guava

Waiting for lunch at Bollywood Veggies

Hanging Out

we stayed out of the picket fence because we weren't the first 50 and couldn't take pictures with the trains. not that we miss it or anything close, we just hung around and make ourselves merry.

Eating Out

Declaring that she loves her candy.

She asked - Mama, what flavour?

Erm... Passion Fruit. - I replied after careful thinking.

No! It's Orange! - she demanded.

(well, it's just orange colour but it is passion fruit)

She leaves her sweet aside (in a saucer) while she eats dinner.

Eating Out

I didn't know the portions would be quite large, I had over-ordered for just the two of us, Kiki not inculsive since she was only eating three spoonfuls.
Nevertheless, I like the Herbal Duck. It has a nice, sweet fragrant.

Christmas 2011

Papa, I wanna sit on your shoulders.- she declared.

No, no, Kiki, you're too.... ( I hesistated to say "heavy")

Okay, since you've been a good girl and I've promised you earlier. - the Papa replied.

(she calls this "Kangaroo". I think she's confused.)

Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011

Foam bursting out.

Someone put some foam on the snowman's carrot nose, Kiki said- Look, Mama, the nose!

We didn't get into this really thick foam, we were not prepared.

Christmas 2011

Monday, December 5, 2011

Aw, she's sweet!

Mama, this is for you! - she said.
I replied - Thanks! Nice coin.
No, it's a house! - she said.
House? - I raised my eyebrow.
Yes, - she pointed at the word "Jing", House! - she said.

(wow,,,, house indeed! the word has a "roof") It is amazing how the Chinese characters were formed with drawings and symbols. Some things are universally understood?

The Thing with Balloons

Her first balloon flew off as it was not tied tightly enough.
Hence she went up to the guy for another balloon and returned to tell me that she has asked for a pink one. I asked her - then how about me? how about a green one for me? She hesistated because that would mean she's been given a balloon three times. (? I don't know if that was her hesitation but she paused for a while) Then she walked up and circled the guy for 3 minutes. Finally, she opened her mouth to ask for a green balloon for me! (I watched her from a distance because we were having breakfast at the market)

3rd Dec, Saturday

We are fortunate in the sense we still get to go do our stuff.
We would quickly settle meals for the family, do "area cleaning", wash up etc. etc., and at night we could still go out for a drink. Katong & Joo Chiat are walking distance and there are many pubs and eateries as long as you wish to spend.

Me eating the crackers in order of preference.

Bren dancing with his Aunt.

4th December 2011, Sunday

I asked her what she's learnt in ballet, she showed me "Thank you, Miss Tan." and did a curtsey.

Nice curtsey!

Then she went on to attempt the Yoga pose her Yiyi taught her.

Her skirt was in the way so she pulled it up to her armpits, problem solved.

I said, no, don't do that it's so ugly, but she ignored.

Finally finished counting my coins, this year I've got $1032! Very good for a BD present indeed but I'll just use it for daily expenses as I'll need it for now. Hope that next year I'll really get myself a nice gift. Till then!

Oh by they way, I banked the coined into Colin's savings account as the bank won't impose a surcharge. Turned out there's a free gift (for deposit above $1000 - rubber stamp set, but I've regretted letting Kiki play with it. It is so messy, inky and doesn't stamp well too. =( Next time, please choose some other gifts. I will not get anymore stamps like these and I've hidden them away. Hope they will fade from her memory.

Reciting

Watch Kiki reciting the paragraph from her memory, not reading but it's a start.

Such Difference

The "First Teeth" baby toothpaste were introduced by my mom and we just carry on using the brand. I didn't look into why Fluoride is harmful to young children until I've discovered the vast price difference. Other children brands' of toothpaste (Kodomo, Pigeon, Pureen) cost averagely $2.50 while the "First Teeth" cost $13.50. The main absent ingredient is Fluoride. I went on to google "why fluoride is harmful to children" and found that fluoride is toxic even to adults.

(at a toileteries shop in Katong Shopping Centre, it cost $10.50 hence I get from there instead of NTUC. this brand is not commonly available, probably at pharmacies they're easier to get, hence if you see it, buy it at least if your kid is below 6).

How To Loose 10kg in Three Months?

I think I've lost the first 5kg, which is the easy part.
The next 5kg will take discipline. Some more now that we're exploring the eateries here,,, I'm not sure if I could upkeep my exercise routine and loose weight but I'll try.
(63kg after giving birth, dropped to 60, 58. ideal weight is 48kg for my height but I'll settle for 50 if ever!)

Recent Foodie

We've lived in Marine Parade for over two years but we've not explored all the nice eateries here. So we've decided to just have excursions out to eat and also for a break from household chores. Most of the time, we will pop in to the various pubs for a drink and a game of pool (which will take quite a long time as we are not good pool players) Ha ha.

Yesterday, we went to this beer garden place called - Mel's Place. (no.2A Kuo Chuan Avenue, tel 64403573)
Just a dash of Macallan 12 years along with my favourite dish- Lamb Chop. (I'm hungry while writing this!)

Bren had Dory Fillet.

That place has 1-for-1 drinks from 4pm till 6pm.

I like these Bean Curd "buns". Tau Kwa Pau they're called.

The stall is apparently famous for these. Pleaes eat while they're hot. If cooled, they don't taste as well. Location: Coffeeshop opposite Katong Mall.
