Video Clips on Hi-5

Look at how the kids could mirror the dance.

First Live Show

We have just one of these books passed down from HJ. HJ was a Hi-5 fan and was hooked on the VCDs for quite a long time. Hooked as in must watch daily or would cry. Hence, I am well aware of the danger with these type of highly energised shows. We have to do these in moderation, not too much nor totally none. Since Kiki could "read" the last page of this book, I thought it would be nice for her to meet the cast in person since they are in town. She reads: "Goodnight moon, goodnight stars, close your eyes and dream. Dream till the morning light." She doesn't yet know to read for real but she commits it to memory instead. We were taken by surprise. When she flips the pages, she goes "(something something blah blah "Fantastic" on the page with the word "fantastic", and the last page, she reads the whole paragraph from memory.)

Since I refused to queue, we stayed outside the cordoned area. Some people just sneaked in since no guards were watching. Well, I have yet to reach that stage.

I thought nobody would wanna watch Hi-5 since they are an old act. But I was wrong!

These people queue 2 hours in advance just to be the first 60 so that they can take a photo with the cast, mind you, gotta pay $25 for the photo! Queue and still gotta pay! Is this madness or what. I can't speak too soon because one day I may also do it. -_-"""

This is a working Friday and it is still so packed.

They are indeed super high. Even I felt like dancing. -_-"

Regular Days

At my estate, many children have this thing called the wave board or snakeboard. At the East Coast Park, it is also for rent. I've always envied the children who could skate on it with ease but from the way I've observed, I think it take tremendous stomach muscle to manouevre.
Price ranges from $60 to $300++

Kiki likes to look at window displays. If she comes across any animal she doesn't know, she will ask me - Mama, what's that! what's that! (not in a questioning manner but in a "tell me! tell me!" manner) Explosion of learning cells.

She poked her finger through the fries. Well, the fries at Mos Burger are thick enough.

Also, she took a sip of the drink and declared: "Mama, Coca-cola!" Yes, darling, it is is Coca-cola -_-"""

Look Mama! Reindeer!

She must stop to Sayang one.

And tinkle its bell. She will tinkle any cowbell or jingle bell.

Regular Days

She wants to stop at whatever that took her interest. Well, it was an exploratory journey while making our way to the bus stop anyway.

Regular Days

Simple Fun.
She likes to cover an object, and ask: "Where? Where Mama, where?"

"There!"

Where?

Ta-da!

Regular Days

These days, she will stop me in my tracks and made sure I "smell the roses" before moving on.
She will say: "Look! Mama, look!" and go on to name whatever that caught her attention.
"Red flowers!" she'll exclaim.
"Yes, red flowers indeed" I'll say.

As we passed by each of these tiles, she greeted them :"Goodbye Frog, See You Again."

"Goodbye Fish, See You Again."

"Goodbye Crab, See You Again."

"Goodbye Starfish, See You Again." (She greeted the Starfish instead of the Seahorse!?)

You know, I've walked that path a hundred times but I've never noticed the tiles. I'm so glad to see it in her perspective. =)

Kiki's Work

Kiki sometimes likes to play with my phone.
These days, she plays with Photo Apps, mainly Leme, Instagram & the normal camera function.
She doesn't know how to adjust the colours but she will just flick her fingers and press the buttons randomly which ultimately adjusts colours sometimes. However, one thing for sure is that she could get her subject into grid. She knows how to trace and track her subject.
Below photos are all taken by her. In one sitting, she used all three Apps.
I think she might have inherited the skill while in my tummy.

Christmas 2011

Since the light-up at Orchard seems so uninteresting this year, I kept thinking there must be somewhere else or something more hilighting. Then, I recalled - The Tanglin Mall. They should have their snow machine still, I thought, and googled for it. True enough, the snow machine is still working. Ha Ha. Iresh, do you miss this?
In 1998, one night I worked late and walked past the mall to the bus stop. I was tired and didn't pay much attention to the decorations then. Suddenly, snow burst into the air! Followed by cheers. It was merry and exciting. I think I whipped out my Motorola StartacX and called Brendan. Over the years, this became less exciting but I'm sure this year will be different. Let Kiki have a "stimulated snow experience" (oops, will she grow up to think that it snows in Singapore?) Ha ha. I would urge you to bring your young ones there if you haven't been at least once. Bring extra clothing to change as the foam could become wet. And protect your cameras.

Orchard Road Christmas 2011

Look at the crowd, and this is just 7pm. On a Wednesday!

Just these lights, nothing spectacular.

Orchard Road Christmas 2011

She's smiling like this because she has a sweet in her mouth. A sales promoter gave her the sweet and I couldn't persuade her to put it in her pocket (hoping that she will forget about it)

(the sweet is still in her mouth)

30th November 2011

We brought Colin to the padiatrician for his developmental check-up. The doc said she wants to keep a tab on Colin due to the "challenging birth".
It was pouring at the whole morning and poured even heavier in the afternoon, it was rather challenging getting to the hospital in the pouring rain, luckily one cabby driver waited for us while Maricar came down with both Kiki & Colin. I told the cabby to Please Wait,,, Please keep the meter running. And he did.
Joy insisted to pass me a belated BD present and came to the hospital to drop it off, in the pouring rain. (intense night repair serum, she probably thinks that I need it).

Must take a picture of her with a "snowman" because "snowman" is one of her first words when she first learnt to speak. Thanks to Baby.TV

She wanted so much to play on the rocking horse but my sis kept telling her it's too small for her. Finally, I put her onto it and she fitted just nicely.
